Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed mental health assessments through preliminary interviews, effectively documenting each case from initial consultation to discharge.
  • Evaluate the mental, behavioral, and emotional health of clients and create appropriate and evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities to suit diverse client needs.
  • Continuously monitor client progress and adapt treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and social workers, to develop comprehensive intervention plans.
  • Stay in close communication with clients who have been hospitalized, following up with their care as needed.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record systems such as AVATAR.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities along with exceptional interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor or therapist, preferably with a focus on individual and group counseling.
