Ridgeview Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time role that allows for remote work. This role is predominantly remote, providing the flexibility to connect with clients from the comfort of your location while still being part of a collaborative and supportive team. • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, encompassing comprehensive interviews and thorough documentation from the first consultation through to the completion of treatment.
• Assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to identify the best possible therapeutic interventions.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with clinical best practices.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions aimed at promoting coping skills, self-awareness, and personal growth.
• Monitor client progress through each stage of the treatment plan, adjusting interventions as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to refine intervention strategies.
• Provide follow-up communication with healthcare providers regarding the care and progress of clients who require hospitalization.
• Proactively identify challenges to recovery and implement preventative measures to address behavioral concerns.
• Support and educate family members and primary caregivers in managing the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

You will engage a diverse range of clients, including adults, adolescents, and families, dealing with a variety of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Your role will directly contribute to enhanced patient outcomes by providing tailored support that empowers clients along their recovery journey.

• A Master's or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• A solid history of professional experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating your ability to handle varied counseling situations.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably AVATAR, for efficient client record management.

• Experience addressing complex emotional and physical health conditions, including substance abuse and addiction disorders.
• An understanding of the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Knowledge of pharmacological treatments and their psychological impacts, enhancing the ability to collaborate effectively with medical professionals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills that facilitate clear interaction with clients and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills marked by empathy, active listening, and cultural competency.
