Job description

This position is National Remote with preference for Minnesota, DC, Maryland, or Virginia. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

The Travel Security Analyst will support the Corporate Security at UnitedHealth Group. Reporting to the Associate Director of Travel Security, this role will be instrumental in the day-to-day implementation and operational execution of the Travel Risk Management team and its Traveler Tracking Program (TTP). The Analyst will work within a defined area of expertise to monitor global travel risks, support executive and enterprise travelers in real time, and help ensure the safety and security of employees during domestic and international travel.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about travel risk management. The role is full-time, M-F, and remote work eligible, with the option to work hybrid either at Optum Headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN or in the Washington DC metro area.

This position is full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time zone. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor global travel activity and provide real-time support to travelers, including incident response coordination and escalation.
  • Analyze travel itineraries and risk data to identify potential threats and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Traveler Tracking Program (TTP), including data entry, system updates, and alert management.
  • Conduct research and prepare travel risk advisories for executive and high-risk travelers.
  • Investigate non-standard travel requests and provide guidance in coordination with the Associate Director and other stakeholders.
  • Support the development and refinement of travel security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Collaborate with Executive Protection, GSOC, Risk Intelligence, and other internal teams to ensure consistent application of travel security measures.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to travel incidents, risk assessments, and program metrics.
  • Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines and support broader program goals.
  • Provide clear explanations and information to travelers and internal stakeholders on travel security topics.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2 years of experience in corporate security, travel risk management, intelligence analysis, or a related role
  • Experience with global threat environments and travel risk platforms
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time domestically
  • Ability to work full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time zone. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with itinerary management systems, emergency communication tools, or traveler tracking platforms is a plus

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
