Job description

Looking for more than a desk job? Lead from the front on projects that transform the Western landscape. If you’re a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, embraces travel, and is ready to make an impact on high-profile environmental projects, we want to hear from you.

Who We Are:

KC Harvey Environmental (an Aventia company) is a rapidly growing environmental consulting and field services firm headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, with operations across Wyoming, North Dakota, and project sites throughout the Rocky Mountains and Northern Great Plains.

We partner with leading energy, mining, and infrastructure clients -as well as state and federal agencies - to deliver impactful reclamation, restoration, and remediation solutions. Our work spans some of the most dynamic projects in the West, including powerlines, pipelines, mining operations, wind farms, and oil and gas developments.

If you’re energized by meaningful work, wide-open landscapes, and the opportunity to tackle complex environmental challenges, you’ll find your place here. Our teams are made up of problem-solvers who thrive in the field, embrace adventure, and take pride in building projects that make a lasting impact.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale environmental construction projects across Nevada and Idaho. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, travel-based environment and is excited by the opportunity to work on high-profile transmission, pipeline, and renewable energy projects.

As a Superintendent, you will take ownership of field execution - leading multiple crews, driving daily operations, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that blends team leadership with active field involvement. You’ll spend significant time in the field at remote project sites, with travel as a core part of the role. Per diem and housing support are provided for remote assignments.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate multiple field crews performing erosion control, reclamation, and restoration work across diverse and remote project sites
  • Oversee installation and maintenance of stormwater and erosion control BMPs (wattles, silt fence, erosion blankets, etc.)
  • Drive daily planning, scheduling, and crew deployment in alignment with fast-paced construction activities
  • Manage project materials, staging areas, logistics, and inventory to keep operations running smoothly
  • Partner closely with clients, contractors, and inspectors to ensure alignment with project goals and environmental requirements
  • Monitor weather and evolving site conditions to proactively manage risks and maintain productivity
  • Ensure full compliance with SWPPP requirements, permits, and environmental specifications
  • Troubleshoot field challenges in real time and adjust plans to meet changing conditions
  • Support reclamation activities including soil prep, seeding, stabilization, and vegetation management
  • Utilize technology (GIS-based tools preferred) to track production, document progress, and support reporting
  • Maintain accurate field documentation including logs, tracking reports, and compliance records
  • Champion a strong safety culture, including enforcing policies and exercising stop-work authority when needed
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused team environment with crews and project stakeholders
  • Embrace extended workdays, early starts, and working in rugged, remote terrain

KEY CAPABILITES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in field supervision on large infrastructure or environmental projects.
  • Experience managing multiple crews and coordinating field operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • SWPPP implementation and environmental compliance
    • Erosion control BMP installation and maintenance
    • Reclamation and restoration practices
  • Experience working on transmission lines, pipelines, or large linear projects preferred
  • Equipment operation experience (e.g., trucks, trailers, skid steers, tractors).
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or ability/willingness to obtain.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively and stay in hotels or company housing for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather and rugged terrain.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Experience with digital tools (tablets, GPS, GIS applications) preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

WHY KC HARVEY

  • Established, trusted contractor on major western infrastructure projects
  • Combination of science + field execution (not just one or the other)
  • Stable workload across multiple states and industries
  • Strong safety culture with proven performance
  • Opportunity to lead high-visibility projects with growing company.

This is a full-time, field-based position requiring travel throughout Nevada, Idaho, and surrounding regions. This role involves work in remote environments, with housing and per diem provided for qualifying assignments.
