This Opportunity

The Senior Power Delivery Project Manager provides technical, administrative, and commercial project management leadership for the development, execution, delivery, and monitoring of Power Delivery projects, including electric transmission, distribution, and substation initiatives, within a defined geographic region, utility client base, or technical discipline. Supports utility capital programs and Power Delivery portfolios by ensuring all responsibilities across the full project lifecycle-including proposal development, project planning and startup, engineering coordination, procurement, construction execution, schedule and cost control, reporting, and project closeout-are executed, documented, and audited in accordance with WSP project management standards, Power Delivery best practices, and client requirements. Provides practical leadership, process improvement, and innovative solutions to address schedule, cost, risk, quality, and stakeholder management challenges within a dynamic, regulated, and evolving Power Delivery and energy infrastructure environment

This position will be based out of New Orleans, LA with the ability to work remotely from any mutually acceptable location in the region. You must have the ability to travel to a WSP and/or Client office for periodic face to face meetings.

Your Impact
  • Provide Power Delivery project management leadership for largescale and complex utility infrastructure projects, ensuring clear task ownership, schedule accountability, and delivery milestones across transmission, distribution, and substation scopes; prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, margins, KPIs, earned value, hours and expenses, monitor external risks and contingencies, and ensure contractual compliance and successful delivery of assigned Power Delivery project portfolios. 
  • Develop and execute stakeholder engagement and communication strategies for utility clients, internal leadership, engineering teams, contractors, and regulators, maintaining strong relationships and providing timely reporting on project status, risks, and performance. [
  • Provide guidance during pursuit, initiation, and project startup phases, supporting Go/NoGo decisions, contract and commercial reviews, pricing strategies, delivery risk assessments, and mitigation planning for Power Delivery and utility capital projects
  • Participate in and support the technical and commercial aspects of contract negotiations, client presentations, scope alignment discussions, and project execution meetings with IOUs, IPPs, cooperatives, and public power clients. 
  • Actively lead and enforce appropriate technical and constructability reviews, ensuring selection of qualified engineering and discipline leads, adherence to QA/QC programs, and compliance with utility standards and WSP project quality plans. 
  • Provide written and verbal technical input to multidisciplinary Power Delivery project teams and contribute strategic, riskinformed advisory guidance to clients on schedule, cost, constructability, and execution strategy. 
  • Mentor and coach project managers, engineers, and support staff, supporting career development, performance improvement, and leadership growth within the Power Delivery organization. 
  • Manage, evaluate, and provide performance leadership to assigned staff, ensuring alignment with project objectives, safety expectations, and delivery standards
  • Ensure timely updates and governance compliance for project management systems and documentation, including Risk Registers (REF/RMP), Project Management Plans (PMP), Quality Plans (QP), Project Safety Plans (PSP), and Communications Plans
  • Facilitate and lead project kickoff, safety, and execution alignment meetings with key internal and external stakeholders to establish roles, responsibilities, and delivery expectations. 
  • Coordinate with area managers, technical leads, and resource managers to address staffing, subcontracting, and specialty support needs in a timely manner across Power Delivery programs. 
  • Maintain regular client communications, including monthly progress reporting, safety performance, major risks/issues, and scope or budget impacts, reinforcing WSP's role as a trusted Power Delivery advisor. 
  • Participate in and lead problem project and recovery reviews, conducting rootcause analysis, identifying corrective actions, and developing project recovery and mitigation plans
  • Ensure consistent project reporting and governance updates to clients, technical leadership, and business unit managers, proactively identifying emerging scope, schedule, cost, or risk issues. 
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable (AR), unbilled revenue, cash flow, and invoicing, coordinating with project accounting and finance teams to resolve issues and maintain financial health of Power Delivery projects. 
  • Complete formal project closeout activities, including financial closeout, documentation archiving, client acceptance, and lessonslearned workshops to support continuous improvement. [
  • Remain current on project management best practices, PMAP methodologies, utility delivery trends, and Power Delivery industry standards
  • Collaborate with crossdisciplinary professionals to deliver integrated, futureready power delivery solutions, strengthening WSP's position as a trusted advisor to utility clients. 
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decisionmaking regarding company funds, client commitments, project risks, and professional conduct, in accordance with WSP's Code of Conduct and corporate policies.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical), Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience within an A/E/C, utility, EPC, or power delivery consulting environment. 
  • 10+ years of progressive posteducation experience in a project management or senior technical leadership role, preferably supporting power delivery, transmission & distribution (T&D), substation, or utility capital projects. 
  • Highly proficient understanding of the project delivery lifecycle within the A/E/C and utility industries, including proposal development, project initiation, engineering coordination, procurement support, construction execution, commissioning, and project closeout, with a strong background in Power Delivery project management
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills with demonstrated business and commercial acumen, enabling effective integration of project controls, financial performance, risk management, and client objectives. 
  • Advanced proficiency in critical thinking, riskbased decisionmaking, and problemsolving, including performing project management assessments, schedule and cost evaluations, forecasting, and scenario analysis to optimize Power Delivery project outcomes. 
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively, persuasively, and professionally with executive leadership, utility clients (IOUs, IPPs, CoOps, Munis), subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams. 
  • Demonstrated selfleadership and accountability, with strong attention to detail, quality, multitasking, and adaptability in a fastpaced Power Delivery and utility project environment. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while providing technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to midlevel and senior project staff, with strict adherence to QA/QC, safety, and delivery standards. 
  • Advanced proficiency in technical writing, project documentation, office automation, and project management software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), scheduling tools, and Power Delivery PM platforms. 
  • Strong experience managing the review, approval, and coordination of disciplinespecific deliverables, technical reports, scopes of work, and execution plans within a multiproject, multidisciplinary Power Delivery portfolio. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and gain cooperation from a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leadership, utility clients, subcontractors, consultants, and matrixed internal teams, without formal authority. 
  • Proven commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental performance, including adherence to WSP safety programs, drug/alcohol policies, and harassmentfree workplace standards. 
  • Strong ability to adapt to changing project demands, including flexible schedules, outagedriven work, and evolving client priorities common in Power Delivery and utility capital programs. 
  • Willingness to support occasional travel to client sites, regional offices, and project locations as required to support Power Delivery project execution and client engagement.
