Job description

Support online vendors on the global scale as the one-stop-shop for motion design and video editing.
RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a Motion Designer / Video Editor to join our creative team as a dedicated contractor for a 3-month project. This is a hybrid position, requiring multiple days onsite in Seattle, WA.
This role is responsible for designing, animating, and editing video content end-to-end - from concept through final delivery. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building motion graphics from scratch as they are editing live-action footage.
As a Motion Designer / Video Editor, You Will
  • Design and animate video content end-to-end, including concept development, storyboarding, asset creation, animation, and final output.
  • Edit live-action and mixed-media video projects (non-animation), including cutting, basic color correction, basic audio leveling, and finishing.
  • Create motion graphics, lower thirds, transitions, and visual effects for social media and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with producers, editors, and stakeholders to translate creative briefs into polished video deliverables.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all visual outputs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

In This Role, You Bring
  • 3+ years of professional experience in motion design and video editing.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both animation/motion graphics work and live-action video editing.
  • Ability to take a project from initial design concept through final animated delivery without supervision.
  • Understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Excellent time management and ability to work within structured production timelines.
  • In-depth understanding of the following tools:
    • Figma - UI/UX asset design, layout creation, and collaboration with design teams.
    • Adobe After Effects - Motion graphics, animation, compositing, and visual effects.
    • Adobe Premiere Pro - Video editing, basic color correction, basic audio leveling, and final output.
    • Adobe Illustrator - Vector asset creation, icon design, and graphic development for animation.

Bonus If You Have
  • Experience with Adobe Express or similar rapid-content tools.
  • Familiarity with 3D animation or Cinema 4D.
  • Experience working within brand guidelines for large-scale organizations.
  • Knowledge of current social media video trends and best practices.

Additional Position Details
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
    • None.
  • Physical Demands
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Work Environment
    • Typical for an office setting or home environment.
    • Hybrid remote/onsite in Seattle, WA.
  • Travel
    • None.
