Job Summary
TerraForm Power (TERP) is seeking a Senior Project Controls Scheduler to serve as the scheduling and project controls subject matter expert within the Project Management team in the Operations organization.
Reporting to the Director, Project Management, this role is responsible for leading the development, governance, and continuous improvement of integrated project scheduling across TERP's portfolio of renewable energy construction, repowering, and major capital projects. In addition to developing and maintaining complex project schedules, the Senior Project Controls Scheduler will establish scheduling standards, provide portfolio-level schedule reporting and analytics, perform advanced schedule risk assessments, and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Finance, and external contractors, this role provides leadership in project scheduling best practices, executive visibility into project performance, and consistency in project controls across TERP's renewable energy portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Enterprise Project Controls Leadership
- Serve as TerraForm's subject matter expert for project scheduling and project controls.
- Own and manage the integrated master schedule across TerraForm's capital project delivery portfolio.
- Establish and continuously improve enterprise scheduling standards, templates, governance, and best practices.
- Develop executive-level dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into schedule performance, key risks, portfolio impacts, and schedule attainment.
- Evaluate schedule risks and quantify downstream impacts, including commercial impacts such as potential PPA liquidated damages, to support proactive decision-making.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams on scheduling methodologies, forecasting, and project controls.
- Project Scheduling & Controls
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, including work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones, dependencies, and schedule baselines.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Finance, and contractors to ensure schedules accurately reflect project execution strategies.
- Integrate contractor and EPC schedules into the portfolio master schedule.
- Perform schedule forecasting, critical path analysis, schedule impact assessments, and recovery planning.
- Support project controls activities, including progress measurement, schedule performance analysis, and executive reporting.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to support successful delivery of TerraForm's renewable energy capital projects.
- Present schedule performance, portfolio risks, and recommendations to Operations leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement of scheduling processes and project controls practices across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field; PMP certification preferred.
- 8+ years of project scheduling or project controls experience supporting large infrastructure, engineering, energy, or renewable energy projects, including EPC projects.
- Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM), and schedule risk analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent capital projects in a fast-paced environment.
