Job description

A-TEK Inc is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to support a federal customer in the Research Triangle, NC metropolitan area. The Senior Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project, leading teams of IT professionals on large projects or significant segment(s) of large and complex projects.  Provides day-to-day tasking of team members to ensure deadlines are met.  Facilitate communication between team members, managers, and government project leads.  Coordinates requirements and scheduling activities to ensure performance across delivery orders.  Collects schedule and resource allocation inputs from government project leads and contractors to develop an integrated master schedule to optimize use of staff to meet delivery commitments.  This role requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience managing projects relating to applications development, system operations and maintenance, or cloud migration.  The position is primarily remote with occasional travel to the client site in the Research Triangle, NC area.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes new and complex project-related problems, and creates innovative solutions that normally involve the schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management of the project.
  • Provides applications systems analysis and long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities for necessary support resources. 
  • Applies principles of PMI's PMBOK to the management of all DME software development efforts.  Prepares, maintains, and follows a program management plan governing technical approach, organizational resources, and management controls to meet the cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Operates in a CMMI-DEV Level III environment and ensures that team members are following established processes.
  • Effectively communicate project plans and expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.  Delegates tasks, responsibilities, and work activities to appropriate personnel.  Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.  Delivers all SOW requirements on time and under budget.
  • Monitors all project life cycle activities and produce relevant artifacts.  Provides weekly status reports and monthly status reports to the Project Officer and stakeholders reporting on progress against task plan, timeline accomplishments, problems encountered, action items, open issues, and recommended solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or directly related field and minimum of 8+ years of experience leading the development, maintenance, and on-going improvement of information technology projects and planning processes.
  • 3+ years' experience leading IT solutions and software development projects in a federal environment.
  • Prior primary project management and delivery experience for federal contracts is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build, extend and maintain customer relationships.
  • Familiarity with the following tools preferred: JIRA, HP ALM, MS Project, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Deltek/CostPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a public trust clearance.

  • PMP - Required
  • ITIL - Preferred
  • Agile or Scrum Master - Preferred

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
