Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as Controls Specialist, based in the UK (with travel to customer sites). The role may need to work offshore from time to time approx 2 -3 occasions a week at a time .

You'll support the design, build and delivery of engineered solutions across a wide range of UK projects, working closely with our Design and Project Delivery teams to turn concepts into operational installations.

What you'll do as Project Engineer:

  • Lead the initial design, costing, integration, and delivery of complex, bespoke control systems across assigned projects.
  • Act as the technical lead for controls and interface with the Design Engineering team, providing specialist guidance from early design through commissioning.
  • Collaborate with Project Delivery Engineers and Central Engineering team to resolve complex controls challenges and ensure aligned programming standards.
  • Support presales activities by scoping technical requirements, estimating bespoke control solutions, and engaging with customers.
  • Ensure control system compliance with industry standards, cybersecurity requirements, and projectspecific regulations.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer by upskilling project teams and contributing to continuous improvement in controls capability.

You are:

  • Strong technical expertise in control system design, integration, and troubleshooting across complex power generation systems.
  • Proven experience delivering projects involving advanced automation, SCADA, PLC programming, or bespoke control solutions used in Power Generation systems and equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering design, project delivery, commercial teams, and customers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to manage technical risk, resolve complex issues, and ensure system compliance and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging directly with customers and providing technical leadership.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with a commitment to continuous learning and upskilling others in controls best practice.
