About the role
As a Technical Lead, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable cloud-based applications for our insurance client. You will be a valued member of the Insurance team and work collaboratively with technical teams, delivery stakeholders, and client partners to build reliable, high-performing solutions using modern cloud and application development practices.
In this role, you will:
• Lead the design and development of cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS services.
• Build and support APIs and integrations using REST, JSON, OpenAPI, and modern service-oriented development practices.
• Apply strong knowledge of serverless, microservices, and event-driven architecture patterns to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Support performance tuning, concurrency, multithreaded programming, and troubleshooting for complex application and production issues.
• Contribute to continuous integration and delivery practices using Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, automated testing, and related DevOps tools.

What you need to have to be considered:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ Professional experience developing applications in Java, including Java 8, Java 11, or Java 17.
• Hands-on experience with Spring or Spring Boot, including RESTful services and dependency injection.
• Experience developing APIs using Node.js and TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Strong experience with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, Step Functions, S3, DocumentDB, and Identity and Access Management.
• Experience building and consuming APIs using REST, JSON, and OpenAPI.
• Strong understanding of non-relational databases, especially DynamoDB and DocumentDB.
• Experience with application observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog.

• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be between $89,000 to $140,500 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
