Remote programmers use a variety of coding languages to write computer software, mobile applications, and websites. Instead of working in the office, remote programmers complete their tasks at home or another location outside of the office. They take the application designs created by developers and translate them into computer language that tells the computer what to do. Common computer languages they utilize in their projects include Java, C++, and Python. Remote programmers may also be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and updating the software, as necessary. Depending on their area of expertise, programmers may work as app developers, software developers, web developers, firmware developers, analysts, and computer scientists.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote programmer?

To thrive as a Remote Programmer, you need strong coding abilities in relevant programming languages, problem-solving skills, and a degree in computer science or equivalent experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, cloud platforms, and remote collaboration tools is commonly required. Excellent self-motivation, time management, and clear written communication make someone stand out in remote environments. These skills ensure productivity, seamless teamwork, and successful project delivery without in-person supervision.

Job description

Title: Agentic AI Engineer
Location: US — Remote / Hybrid (multiple locations) ·
Type: Full-time or Contract (W2/C2C) ·
Level: Mid–Senior (10+ Years)

ConglomerateIT (CGIT) is building out its agentic AI bench to meet surging client demand. We're looking for engineers who have actually shipped AI agents to production — not just prototyped them — and can own the agent loop end to end.

What you'll do

  • Design and build agentic systems: planning loops, tool/function calling, agent memory, and multi-step reasoning

  • Build and tune RAG pipelines (chunking, embeddings, retrieval, re-ranking, grounding)

  • Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) into reliable, production-grade workflows

  • Deploy agents to cloud, with evals, observability, guardrails, and cost/latency controls

  • Partner with client teams to take agents from PoC to production at scale

Must have

  • Strong Python

  • LangChain and/or LangGraph

  • RAG + a vector DB (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, Qdrant, or similar)

  • Hands-on LLM API experience (OpenAI / Anthropic / Gemini)

  • One cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Demonstrated experience taking at least one agent/LLM system to production

Nice to have

  • MCP, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel

  • LangSmith / LangFuse, FastAPI, Docker/Kubernetes, MLOps/CI-CD
