• Conduct thorough clinical evaluations to assess the needs of students, focusing on their mental health, emotional wellbeing, and overall psychosocial adjustment.
• Lead and facilitate therapy sessions, ensuring effective and meaningful participation while utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to students' individual needs.
• Provide crisis intervention services during therapy sessions, ensuring the immediate safety and support of students in distress.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation for all clinical interactions, including initial assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to timely submission requirements.
• Develop comprehensive discharge plans from the day of admission, ensuring that students, parents, and caregivers understand coping skills, resource availability, and ongoing support channels.
• Communicate effectively with educational staff, outpatient providers, and families to coordinate care and facilitate smooth transitions for students requiring higher levels of support.
• Participate actively in program evaluations and clinical outreach initiatives to promote mental health awareness within the school.
• Serve as a resource for milieu staff by providing guidance and support during interactions with students, fostering a team approach to care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance clinical skills and stay informed of best practices in school-based mental health.

This position focuses on supporting a diverse student population, which includes individuals from various backgrounds and cultures experiencing a range of mental health challenges. The LCSW will work with students presenting anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma, ensuring a holistic and culturally competent approach to therapy.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline is essential.
• Possession of a current and valid LCSW license, permitting independent practice and provision of mental health counseling in California.
• Demonstrated ability to establish stable and appropriate boundaries with clients, fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a full caseload effectively, prioritizing responsibilities to ensure timely service delivery.

• Experience with developing and implementing SMART treatment plans tailored to individual client goals.
