Job description

We're seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join our growing team. This fully remote position will support a variety of federal government construction projects, requiring hands-on experience preparing and managing cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include leading estimating efforts, overseeing quality control, communicating cost strategies to clients and A/E consultants, conducting estimate reconciliations, and partnering with internal stakeholders.ย 

Responsibilities:

  • Create estimates, studies, analyses, and evaluations at all levels of project development.ย 
  • Provide conceptual-level estimates, detailed quantity take-off, change order reviews/reconciliations, and value engineering solutions as necessaryย 
  • Provide a detailed review of all documentation and develop comprehensive cost estimates/models that communicate the client's project and strategic goalsย 
  • Ensure a quality product is presented to the client by adhering to QA/QC proceduresย 
  • Communicate effectively through clear and concise means appropriate to the project goalsย 
  • Actively research, solicit, and develop sources/vendors for compiling and maintaining the accuracy of cost informationย 
  • Support business development efforts by developing, promoting, and maintaining client relationships by creating cost exhibits for proposals, meetings, presentations, etc.ย 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a cost estimating professional, preferably in a consulting environment, with experience in conceptual estimating, quantity takeoffs, change order review and reconciliation, value engineering, and cost analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and analyze construction documents at all stages of design.
  • Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and MII/PACES estimating software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically as required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check and obtain HSPD-12 Federal Contractor clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
