What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote product tester, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Product Tester, you need a keen attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to follow testing protocols, often supported by basic technical proficiency and experience in quality assurance or product evaluation. Familiarity with online survey tools, bug tracking systems, and sometimes specific product testing platforms is typically required. Strong written communication, reliability, and time management skills help testers provide clear, valuable feedback and meet deadlines. These skills ensure accurate assessment of products, actionable reporting, and effective remote collaboration with development teams.

What is remote product testing?

Remote product testing is a process where individuals evaluate products from the comfort of their own homes, rather than at a company site or lab. Testers receive products, use them as instructed, and provide feedback on their experiences, which helps companies improve their offerings before they launch to the public. This setup allows companies to get diverse, real-world opinions from users in different locations. Testers may be compensated with free products, payments, or gift cards depending on the company and the test.

How does a remote product tester typically communicate feedback to the product development team?

Remote product testers usually provide feedback through structured online forms, surveys, or dedicated feedback platforms set up by the company. Depending on the organization, testers may also participate in scheduled video calls or submit detailed reports summarizing their experiences and any issues encountered. Clear, timely, and honest communication is highly valued, and testers are often encouraged to include screenshots or screen recordings to illustrate their findings. Regular communication with quality assurance specialists or product managers helps ensure that feedback leads to actionable improvements.

Are there any legitimate remote product testing jobs?

Remote product testing jobs are legitimate opportunities where companies pay individuals to evaluate products, provide feedback, and identify issues. These roles often require attention to detail, communication skills, and sometimes specific tools or platforms for testing. However, job seekers should verify the company's credibility to avoid scams and ensure the position is genuine.

Can you get paid to test products at home?

Remote product testing jobs typically pay individuals to evaluate products from home, often requiring skills in providing detailed feedback and sometimes using specific tools or platforms. Compensation varies by company and task complexity, and legitimate opportunities usually involve paid surveys, reviews, or testing programs with clear payment terms.

Senior Product Manager, Agentic Products

Advisor360 LLC

Needham, MA • On-site, Remote

$137K - $181K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Build the Future of AI for Financial Advisors
At Advisor360°, we're not just adding AI features-we're redefining how financial advisors work.
We've already built the foundation and agentic infrastructure. We're looking for a product leader to join us in building transformative advisor experiences.
This is a 0→1 product role with real ownership. You won't be optimizing the margins of an existing feature-you'll be deciding what should exist in the first place. From intelligent onboarding to compliance-aware automation, you'll shape the agentic layer that advisors rely on every day.
Why this role is different:
  • You own the "why" and the "what"
  • You're building in a high-stakes domain
  • You'll work directly with users who matter
  • You define what "good AI" looks like
  • You operate at the center of everything

This role is remote or hybrid, working three days per week onsite in our Needham, MA headquarters.
Here's What You'll Do:
Agentic Product Strategy & Delivery
You are the product owner for Advisor360°'s advisor-facing agentic experiences. The platform team provides the foundation (LLMs, RAG, agent infrastructure). You decide what to build on top of it and why.
  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery of agent-powered products across advisor workflows: intelligent onboarding, client servicing, compliance, and emerging use cases
  • Define new AI product concepts from 0 to 1, taking them from discovery through launch and iteration with a bias toward rapid experimentation
  • Translate advisor needs and firm-level goals into product requirements that AI Engineering and Design can execute against
  • Own quality and release decisions for your products; you define what "good" means for end users and hold the bar on what ships
  • Define experiments and measure outcomes using data and KPIs to validate product-market fit, assess feature success, and surface opportunities for improvement

Customer Discovery & Go-to-Market
The best AI products start with a deep understanding of the people using them. You will spend real time with advisors and firms to make sure what we build actually solves their problems.
  • Deeply understand the needs of advisors working in BDs and RIAs through customer interviews, usability testing, and data analysis, ensuring each product genuinely boosts advisor and firm efficiency
  • Lead product launches in partnership with sales, marketing, training, and customer success, with a strong focus on measurable adoption and business impact
  • Manage projects from concept to launch, including continuous product discovery, rapid prototyping, writing technical requirements, and conducting user testing to ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Develop and validate pricing, packaging, and positioning for AI capabilities in collaboration with go-to-market teams

Cross-Functional Leadership
You will sit at the intersection of AI Engineering, Data Science, Design, and the business. Your job is to keep these teams aligned on what matters and moving together.
  • Partner closely with PMs across the business to ensure product needs show up in platform and data roadmaps; you are their most important internal customer
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Legal to ensure AI behavior stays predictable, explainable, and appropriate for regulated use cases
  • Foster an empowered, outcome-focused team culture where cross-functional teams have the autonomy and tools to make key product decisions
  • Guide and mentor other Product Managers on best practices, including PSVs, PRFAQs, and WBRs; act as a thought leader for AI product innovation within Advisor360°

What You Bring to the Table:
  • 7+ years of product management experience, with a track record of delivering AI-powered or technically complex B2B products, ideally including experience taking a product from 0 to 1
  • Deep customer empathy and strong product discovery instincts. You have spent real time with users, and you know how to translate what you learn into products that work
  • Strong enough technically to work productively with AI Engineering and Data Science teams. You understand how ML, LLMs, RAG, and agentic systems work enough to make good product tradeoffs
  • Experience defining quality criteria, success metrics, and release standards for products where "correctness" is not binary; you are comfortable with probabilistic systems and know how to set the bar
  • Proven ability to drive alignment across engineering, design, data science, and go-to-market teams without positional authority
  • Clear, precise communicator who can translate between engineering depth and executive context
  • Data-fluent: comfortable with SQL, BI tooling, and using quantitative evidence to make product decisions

Strongly Preferred:
  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or another highly regulated industry (fintech, healthcare, legal tech) where compliance and trust serve as design constraints, not afterthoughts
  • Experience launching AI-powered products to enterprise customers; you understand the adoption curve and the trust gap
  • Strong understanding of the wealth management value chain: advisor workflows, BD/RIA dynamics, firm-level economics
  • Experience with pricing, packaging, or commercialization of AI/SaaS capabilities

Why You'll Love Working With Us:
It's not just about work-it's about building a career and enjoying the ride!
