Job description

About Worklio

Worklio is an infrastructure provider of embedded and white-label payroll, HR, and compliance solutions powering vertical SaaS, workforce management, and ERP platforms. Our platform is purpose-built for the complex regulatory environment of the U.S. market, supporting clients such as PEOs, ASOs, and service providers who require robust, scalable, and compliant back-end systems.

We don’t just offer payroll software — we deliver the infrastructure that other platforms rely on to deliver payroll, tax, and compliance services seamlessly to their end users.

Role Overview

As a Product Manager at Worklio, you will own the design, development, and delivery of Payroll features tailored for the U.S. regulatory and tax environment. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, compliance, QA, and support teams to ensure Worklio’s payroll engine remains accurate, scalable, and compliant.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in payroll processing or payroll technology platforms who is ready to take on product ownership in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and own product requirements for payroll-related features and updates.
  • Analyze federal and state regulatory changes and translate them into actionable specifications.
  • Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure timely, high-quality releases.
  • Manage DevOps (VSTS) boards and sprint planning processes.
  • Create wireframes and flows using Figma for internal use and developer handoff.
  • Support regression and compliance testing, including edge case coverage.
  • Prepare release notes, internal training materials, and stakeholder demos.
  • Monitor system accuracy and field support issues post-release.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management for Payroll or Payroll-related software.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. payroll tax structures (federal, state, local).
  • Experience managing updates tied to compliance changes (e.g., wage base limits, SUTA/FUTA, GTL, W-2s).
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with tools like Azure DevOps (VSTS), Figma, MS Project, and Git-based systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly across development, QA, and compliance teams.
  • Comfortable working with distributed teams and providing occasional off-hours support during critical releases.
Technologies We Use
  • Languages/Stack: C#, REST APIs, .NET 6+
  • Frameworks: Vue.js
  • Dev Tools: Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Git, Azure Portal
  • Design/Docs: Figma, MS Project, FeatureBase
What We Offer
  • Full remote work flexibility within the U.S.
  • Ownership of core product components with room to influence strategy.
  • Direct impact on systems that power thousands of businesses.
  • Collaborative, transparent product culture.
  • Exposure to enterprise-grade infrastructure and compliance tooling.
Salary Range
  • $115,000 – $145,000 USD / year
  • Based on experience, specialization, and location.
  • Performance-based bonuses may apply.
  • For senior-level payroll specialists or candidates in high-cost areas, higher offers may be considered.
