Job Title: Business Analyst, Data Management Location-Type: Hybrid – Colorado Springs, CO or Owings Mills, MD (4 days onsite; Fridays remote) Start Date Is: September 21 Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Compensation Range: $50-58/hr W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, 401K Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for sponsorship .

Job Description: Seeking a Business Analyst to support foundational data and data management platforms by serving as the bridge between business partners and technology teams. This role is centered on understanding business needs, facilitating discovery, writing actionable requirements and user stories, and supporting solutions through implementation. The ideal candidate has enough technical and data fluency to dig into data quality, governance, and validation issues while remaining fundamentally a business-focused analyst.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand needs, pain points, business drivers, and desired outcomes
  • Facilitate discovery sessions to uncover requirements and understand the "why " behind business requests
  • Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and data requirements
  • Translate requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications
  • Work closely with technology teams throughout solution discovery, development, testing, and implementation
  • Analyze and validate data using SQL and relational databases to support requirements and solution design
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and profiling to identify potential issues
  • Investigate data quality issues and coordinate resolution across business and technical teams
  • Support data governance efforts by helping define business rules, data definitions, quality expectations, and operational requirements
  • Develop test scenarios, validate results, document defects, and coordinate resolution
  • Facilitate communication across business, product, data, and technology teams
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and gaps throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Work within Agile teams using Jira to manage stories, requirements, and delivery activities
  • Support continuous improvement of data products, processes, and team workflows

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 years of Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong requirements gathering and documentation experience
  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Strong business and process analysis skills
  • Experience partnering with technology teams to deliver solutions
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Comfortable analyzing data and discussing data quality, governance, validation, and reporting
  • Exposure to Jira
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments
  • Financial services or investment product experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
