Job description

We are seeking a relationship-driven Strategic Buyer to join our growing team. This role supports supplier relationships, procurement activities, and sourcing strategy across enterprise hardware and infrastructure. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and interested in developing into a long-term sourcing and procurement leader.

This role NEEDS previous buying/purchasing/procurement experience. It works closely with senior leadership to evaluate supplier offerings, manage vendor relationships, and support purchasing decisions in a fast-moving market.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key strategic suppliers.
  • Provide procurement support by assisting with sourcing decisions and negotiations.
  • Maintain activity level standards (number of calls, number of quotes, time spent prospecting, etc.).
  • Strategically manage sales cycles, manage accounts, and provide pipeline procurement forecasts.
  • Effectively use internal and external resources to better understand industry and business needs.
  • Consistently maintain monthly and annual purchasing quota and revenue goals.
  • Become a product market expert in the product lines the company is chartered to sell.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with sales and operations teams to align sourcing with demand.

Skills

  • Background in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or vendor management is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge in server, storage, workstation and networking architectures desirable but not requited.
  • Comfortable building and maintaining professional supplier relationships.
  • Superb written and phone communication skills are essential
  • This position requires knowledge and experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Team player mentality. Must be able to work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Education and Experience

  • Previous technology procurement experience in asset recovery resale is a plus.
  • One to two years B2B sales or purchasing experience preferred.
