Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with clients via video chat, targeting improved mental health and well-being.
• Facilitate discussions that encourage clients to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences, thus fostering deeper self-awareness.
• Actively advocate for clients by helping them define personal goals and navigate through their mental health journey.
• Assess clients’ mental health conditions and create evidence-based treatment plans tailored to their unique needs, drawing from your clinical expertise.
• Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will work with at Camino Mental Healthcare are carefully screened to ensure they are suitable for virtual counseling. You will primarily engage with stable adults exhibiting low acuity mental health concerns, making it possible to provide focused and effective care. Our client matching process aligns you with individuals whose needs correspond to your specialties and preferences, ensuring a fulfilling counseling experience for both parties.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Full licensure by the state board, including credentials such as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Note: Provisional or limited licenses will not be accepted, and candidates should be in good standing without any disciplinary actions.

Preferred Experience

While specific experience is not mandated, candidates with prior experience in teletherapy or an understanding of the digital mental health landscape will be highly regarded. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and client-centered therapeutic approaches is also advantageous.
