Job description

Description Summary: The IS Technical Specialist provides technical and consultative support on the most complex technical matters and will lead code development within the Payments Organization. We are seeking an experienced tech specialist with strong engineering skills (Java/API development) and deep GCP expertise to support our Enterprise Payments platform. This role focuses on building cloudnative services and user experiences, system integration, and production support in an agile environment, enabling highvolume charge card origination, card servicing, payment processing, and expense management capabilities.

The ideal candidate brings strong handson experience with Java (e.g., Spring/Spring Boot), designing and implementing secure APIs (REST; familiarity with API management such as Apigee/API Gateway), while collaborating closely with product, business, and enterprise IT partners. Experience with distributed systems and modern DevOps practices on GCP is essential. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services using Java (e.g., Spring Boot), including performance tuning and resiliency patterns

Design, build, and version RESTful APIs, including contract-first design, documentation, and integration testing within our payment's ecosystem. Demonstrate knowledge of and can deliver solutions using GCP, CLI, services and integrations. Work closely with direct manager to ensure that assigned deliverables are planned and completed.

For example, planning/scope estimates, detailed design, development, unit testing, defect fixes, implementation planning/execution, and change controls, Own end-to-end delivery for assigned team initiatives by ensuring team members are aligned, accountable, and delivering productively toward project milestones, quality expectations, and overall project success. Work with offshore/onsite teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of technical and testing artifacts, including code, design documentation, and test deliverables, while ensuring all coding and testing guidelines prescribed by HNB are consistently followed. Demonstrate knowledge of and can deliver solutions using DevSecOps tool chains and processes Provides technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems.

Diagnoses cause of complex technical problems like performance, availability, internal and external application integrations, databases, middleware, network, etc. Possesses an in-depth knowledge of and works with the technical tools available for systems development and support. Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington.

May serve as project leader for specific projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 5+ years of related experience or an additional 4 years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of handson experience developing and supporting cloudnative applications on GCP. Strong proficiency in Java (Spring/Spring Boot) and GCP. 5+ years of experience with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure 5+ years of experience supporting IaC automation, preferably Terraform 5+ years of coding/scripting experience, preferably Java Experience building and supporting secure RESTful APIs and asynchronous, eventdriven integrations (OAuth2/OIDC or similar authentication approaches preferred) Experience with cloud-based technologies and multiple platform environments, including GCP, AWS, Azure, IaC/Terraform, Agile delivery, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, cloud security, IAM, and policy validation using Terraform Validator, OPA, or Rego.

Experience supporting enterprisescale payment or financial systems. Knowledge of payment processing concepts (ACH, checks, debit/credit/corporate cards, Zelle, bill pay, etc.) Experience using monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Zenoss, Splunk, and log files to evaluate the health of mission critical production applications and to identify root causes for performance and functional issues. Exposure to AIassisted development or automation tools

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred). Ability to balance development and support responsibilities while partnering effectively with business segments, IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; self-motivated problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments and contributes as a strong team player.

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $140,000 Annual Salary The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position.

Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education.
