Private Equity Capital Formation

Laguna Beach, CA โ€ข On-site, Remote

Job description

Role Description

We’re looking for a few good men and women to join our capital formation and investor relations team.

That means cultivating relationships with private equity firms, accredited investors, and family offices - presenting opportunities - and closing deals.

We may be a startup, but this is not an equity gig (unless you want it to be).

This is a lucrative, long-term, paid role.  It begins as a two-week paid evaluation period designed to ensure mutual fit, then transitions immediately into a permanent position.

You can participate:

  • Full-time
  • Part-time
  • Fractionally
  • Evenings/off-hours

The role is remote and structured for professionals who already have networks, relationships, and experience in investor-facing environments. You will be presenting a wide variety of investment opportunities, so experience and network in any sector is relevant (real estate, startups, alts, etc.).

About The Opportunity

We are a funded, remote-first startup with a live private beta product, an existing team of 20+ contributors, and an experienced technical founder.

We are building a platform that (among other things) helps people raise money.

Not a crowdfunding platform.  Something bigger.

Step 1 is to help us raise capital to launch the platform itself.

Step 2 is to help our customers raise capital through the platform (as a service).

What You’ll Actually Do

This is a relationship-driven investor outreach role.

Your primary responsibility is to activate and expand professional networks that can lead to accredited investors, family offices, and strategic introductions.

Typical activities include:

  • Reaching out to professional contacts via LinkedIn, email, phone, and referrals
  • Asking for introductions to accredited investors and family offices
  • Booking qualified investor conversations
  • Maintaining investor follow-up and relationship continuity
  • Supporting ongoing fundraising campaigns and future raises
  • Managing investor communications and CRM activity
  • Helping maintain long-term investor engagement after close

The emphasis is on introductions, relationships, and trust-building — not cold transactional selling.

Ideal Backgrounds

We are especially interested in people with backgrounds in:

  • Capital Formation
  • Investor Relations
  • Family Office Relations
  • Venture Scouting
  • Alternative Investments
  • Wealth Management
  • Financial Advising
  • Real Estate Syndications
  • Private Placements
  • Relationship-Driven B2B Sales

You do not need to come from venture capital specifically.

What We’re Looking For Required
  • Prior investor relations, capital formation, fundraising, or investor-facing experience
  • Existing professional network that includes or can reach accredited investors and/or family offices in North America
  • Comfortable asking for introductions and referrals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-directed, reliable and comfortable working remotely
  • Able to maintain organized follow-up and CRM activity
Strongly Preferred

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Private equity
  • Family offices
  • Accredited investors
  • LP/GP communications
  • Alternative investments
  • Investor pipelines
  • Dealflow management
  • Data rooms
  • Relationship sales
Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with experience, network quality, contribution level and role scope.  You will have the option to receive 100% cash or mix with equity.

What Success Looks Like In The First 30 Days
  • Activated your existing network
  • Generated investor conversations or warm introductions
  • Established a consistent outreach rhythm
  • Contributed qualified investor pipeline activity
  • Demonstrated professionalism in investor communications and follow-up
  • Closed two deals
What We Provide
  • Paid onboarding and evaluation period
  • Scripts and outreach frameworks
  • Video pitch – you are responsible for the conversation, not the presentation
  • CRM systems and operational support
  • Access to experienced operators already running this playbook
  • Flexible structure designed for experienced professionals
  • Opportunity to grow into a long-term investor relations role as the company scales
Important Notes

This role is best suited for people who already understand relationship-driven outreach and are comfortable engaging sophisticated professional networks.

We are not hiring for administrative IR support.

We are hiring people who can proactively generate investor conversations, introductions, and long-term investor relationships.
