• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' mental health and substance abuse treatment protocols, ensuring that services offered are medically appropriate and tailored to individual needs.
• Perform prior authorization reviews in alignment with regulatory guidelines to ascertain the medical necessity of mental health and substance abuse services.
• Engage with medical directors and interdisciplinary leadership to continuously improve care quality and delivery efficiency.
• Present cases in staff meetings and integrated rounds to foster collaboration and refine client treatment plans.
• Document and comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and client needs.

In this role, you will work primarily with adults experiencing mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. Your interventions will be targeted towards fostering resilience, developing coping strategies, and promoting recovery. You will play an essential role in enhancing client wellbeing through evidence-based practices while ensuring relevant treatment frameworks are adhered to.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a strong foundation in mental health principles and practices.
• Current independent licensure or state-required licensure to practice as a mental health counselor in Washington.
• Proven clinical knowledge and ability to assess treatment plans for individuals dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues.
• Understanding of utilization review processes and their relevance to mental health services preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with clients, team members, and healthcare providers.

• At least two years of experience in a mental health counseling capacity, particularly in outpatient settings.
• Experience with telehealth modalities and ability to leverage technology in clinical assessment and client engagement.
• A background in collaborating with healthcare teams and providers to enhance patient care processes.
