Description

SAIC is seeking a Principal Cloud & DevSecOps Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to support advanced cloud deployments into C2E (Commercial Cloud Enterprise) AWS environments. As part of this role, you will work on the integration of modern cloud orchestration frameworks with secure DevSecOps pipelines, enabling agile, secure, and reliable cloud services tailored to DoD and mission-critical environments.

This effort will deliver secure cloud architecture, automated deployment pipelines, and security compliance enforcement across mission domains—bridging intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, combat applications, and command and control operations.

The Cloud & DSO Engineer will collaborate closely with government, mission partners, and SAIC teams to design and implement secure cloud-native platforms capable of addressing evolving warfighter requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy Solutions in C2E Environments: Configure and deploy cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) to support rapid prototyping, automating the scaling of microservices, Kubernetes clusters, and infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • Establish and Maintain Secure CI/CD Pipelines: Design and manage CI/CD pipelines with integrated security tools (e.g., Checkmarx, Snyk, SonarQube) and enable GitOps workflows for automated deployments.
  • Implement Mission-Focused DevSecOps Solutions: Build infrastructure as code (IaC) for C2E multi-cloud environments, ensuring compliance with DoD frameworks and deploying secure Kubernetes workloads.
  • Manage Multi-Security Cloud Operations: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud resources, performance, and costs within C2E environments, integrating logging and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Loki, Fluentd).
  • Strengthen Security and Vulnerability Management: Apply DoD cybersecurity policies (e.g., STIGs, RMF), perform system hardening, vulnerability scans, and implement automated remediation across cloud pipelines.
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Work with cross-functional teams to update cloud applications and produce technical documentation, system architectures, and pipeline guides.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizen with an Active TS/SCI Clearance (must remain active).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with nine (9)+ years, Master’s with seven (7)+ years, or PhD with four (4)+ years of related experience OR years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with C2E cloud platforms, including AWS.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes orchestration and containerization tools: Docker, Helm, etc.
  • Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, AWS CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Proven track record implementing DevSecOps principles and tools (e.g., Checkmarx, SonarQube, Aqua Security).
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including implementation of RMF, STIGs, SCAP compliance.
  • Experience with secure code development and vulnerability remediation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications:
    • AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
    • Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP) or equivalent.
  • Expertise in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience managing cross-domain solutions (CDS).
  • Familiarity with on-prem cloud integration to hybrid solutions.
  • Experience with modern observability frameworks, including Prometheus and Elastic Stack (ELK).
