What is a remote PPC specialist?

A Remote PPC (Pay-Per-Click) specialist is a digital marketing professional who manages and optimizes online advertising campaigns from a remote location, rather than working in a traditional office setting. Their primary responsibility is to create, monitor, and improve paid advertising campaigns on platforms like Google Ads, Bing Ads, and social media networks. By analyzing data and adjusting ad strategies, they help businesses achieve better visibility, increase website traffic, and maximize return on investment. Additionally, proactively participating in online industry forums and training webinars can help stay current with best practices and platform updates.

Job description

This is not an immediate hire. We review applications on an ongoing basis to build a long-term talent pipeline as project needs arise.
This is an evergreen Account posting that represents multiple role levels across our Account team. While this is not an immediate opening, we regularly review applications as client needs change. Your experience will help determine the most appropriate role level-ranging from execution-focused marketing roles to senior-level account leadership. If you're excited by integrated digital strategy, client partnership, and nonprofit impact, we'd love to start the conversation.
Media Cause is an award-winning, mission-driven marketing and fundraising agency that helps nonprofits grow and accelerate their impact. Our Account team serves as the connective tissue between client goals, strategy, and execution.
As of 2026, Media Cause consists of 50+ full-time employees along with a network of talented consultants. We have offices in Washington DC, Atlanta, and San Francisco, with many team members working remotely.
This role can be located anywhere in the United States.
What You'll Do (Scope Varies by Level)
Account team members at Media Cause are marketing generalists who grow into increasingly strategic client leaders. Depending on role level, you may:
  • Lead and grow day-to-day client relationships or support senior account leaders
  • Develop and execute integrated digital strategies across channels
  • Translate client objectives into actionable plans with internal specialists
  • Oversee execution quality, timelines, and outcomes across workstreams
  • Define KPIs, analyze performance, and translate insights into recommendations
  • Manage scopes, staffing plans, budgets, and forecasts (as seniority increases)
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and expanded impact
  • Proactively identify risks and recommend solutions
  • Mentor junior team members as responsibilities grow
Who You Are
We're open to candidates with approximately 2-18+ years of experience. The specific title and level will be determined based on your experience, leadership scope, and client complexity. You may be a great fit if you have:
  • Experience in digital marketing strategy and/or account management
  • Comfort managing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience executing a number of marketing specialties including paid media, social, fundraising, content, email, etc
  • Strong communication skills and strategic thinking
  • Familiarity with digital platforms, analytics, CRMs, and fundraising tools
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Genuine interest in nonprofit or mission-driven work

Earlier-career strategists tend to focus more on execution, while more senior roles lean into integrated strategy, account leadership, and client management.
Company Perks & Culture
  • Family first work environment with flexible work from home options to accommodate personal obligations
  • Robust health, dental, and vision benefit plans for you and yours
  • 401k & retirement planning
  • Agency-wide profit sharing
  • Unlimited personal time off (with an enforced 3 week minimum every year)
  • 2x/year mental health Fridays to reset and recharge
  • Flexible remote work: We're open to candidates located anywhere in the US and support work getting done wherever it works best for the employee
  • $200/month health & wellness stipend to strengthen your body and/or mind
  • $1,000/year individual professional development stipend to cover any education/training that you want to pursue to grow in your role (or as a human!)
  • Agency commitment to building and supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive agency (and we hold ourselves accountable)
  • Transparent & equitable career growth opportunities: Clear path for advancement and opportunity for anyone to raise their hand for promotion every 6 months
  • The ability to work with genuinely fantastic humans who care deeply about the work we do and each other
  • Yearly donations made to employees nonprofit of choice to celebrate their Media Cause work anniversaries
  • A culture of volunteering and giving back to the communities we work in and to the issues we care about around the world
