Job description

JRAD is seeking candidates for multiple immediate-fill Intermediate-Network Analyst position(s) supporting the Transportation Security Administration. This position is a remote position with preference given to local (Springfield, VA) candidates.


Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Planning, analysis, and design of a computer network. Works on designing and implementing plans for a computer network.
  • Evaluate site drawings to ensure a given site can support installation of a planned network that includes IT hardware and power access locations.
  • Ensure planned IT hardware and ancillary equipment for a computer network can be installed and maintained at a proposed location.
  • Identify any deviations from site installations plans and drawings to the actual site. Deviations include but not limited to power access points, cabling conduits, and space identified for equipment that could disrupt planned installations.
  • Coordinate with TSA project managers and airport IT infrastructure managers for access to facilities for planned IT hardware installation at an airport.
  • Comprehend IT hardware installation plans and drawings for the planning and installing of IT hardware at a specific location.
  • Accurately document findings of a site verification/inspection prior to the start of installing IT equipment.
  • The required travel is 50-75%. Travel requires independent work while traveling along with planning and providing documentation for prompt re-imbursements.


Required Skills and Education:

Candidate must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Information Technology other related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in related systems engineering and requirements development.
  • Knowledge in planning, development, and installation of computer networks.
  • Ability to travel to various locations in a region as assigned by TSA.
  • Experience with conducting site surveys at various locations for the installation of a computer network.
  • Ability to interpret plans and drawings of a proposed network.
  • Strong understanding of networking hardware and power requirements.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues associated with conducting a network site survey.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and their support staff.
  • Ability to draft technical reports and assessments associated with site surveys and verifications.
  • Preference to possess certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network +, or other certifications that are beneficial for planning and assessing network requirements.
  • Preference for knowledge and experience with the transportation security domain and airport IT infrastructure.


Security Clearance:

Candidate must:

  • Be able to pass DHS suitability screening or DHS financial responsibility standards.
  • Have or be eligible to receive a DHS Secret security clearance. Existing Secret Clearance is a plus.
