Description
The Vice President, Head of Enterprise Reporting will establish and lead the company's enterprise data and reporting capability. This leader will create a unified data framework using Microsoft Fabric, develop governed enterprise data models and semantic layers, and deliver Power BI reporting that connects financial, operational, customer, quality, and workforce performance. Leading a small team, the VP will remain directly involved in architecture, data modeling, report development, prioritization, and problem-solving. The role will partner closely with Operations, Finance, Information Technology, Sales, Human Resources, and other functions to create reporting solutions that can be used across the organization. The ultimate objective is a single, trusted reporting environment that supports weekly execution, monthly business reviews, strategic planning, and executive and Board decision-making.
Requirements

  • Engage with leaders to understand the decision, business problem, risk, or opportunity behind each reporting request; ask probing questions, challenge assumptions, and distinguish the requested output from the underlying enterprise need.
  • Identify common requirements across divisions and functions and convert them into scalable, reusable reporting solutions designed around how the business manages performance and makes decisions.
  • Balance enterprise consistency with legitimate differences among divisions, clients, programs, and operating models.
  • Define and implement the enterprise data architecture within Microsoft Fabric, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, modeling, refresh, and monitoring.
  • Build and maintain governed lakehouse, pipeline, and semantic-model capabilities; integrate data from financial, operational, customer, quality, workforce, and other enterprise systems.
  • Develop scalable and reusable measures that support reporting across multiple audiences.
  • Partner with Information Technology on infrastructure, security, integration, access, disaster recovery, and enterprise architecture standards; ensure the environment is documented, maintainable, performant, secure, and scalable.
  • Personally develop and oversee intuitive Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and analytical tools for executives and operating leaders, including an Enterprise Health Report providing one view of financial, operational, customer, quality, people, and strategic performance.
  • Develop standardized reporting for divisions, clients, programs, and functions with consistent navigation and drill paths from enterprise results to underlying detail.
  • Design for governed self-service by enabling authorized users to explore trusted data without creating competing versions of the truth.
  • Establish common definitions for key enterprise measures including revenue, margin, productivity, inventory, cycle time, quality, staffing, retention, and client performance.
  • Own an enterprise reporting roadmap that prioritizes organizational value, repeatability, decision impact, risk, and effort; create a disciplined intake and discovery process that prevents the team from becoming a report-request queue.
  • Measure report adoption, usability, data freshness, reliability, manual effort eliminated, and the business outcomes supported by reporting; continuously improve based on user feedback and emerging platform capabilities.
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a small team that may Power BI developers, and business intelligence analysts; remain hands-on in technical delivery while building the team's business knowledge, engineering discipline, and executive communication skills.

Required education and experience
  • Substantial experience in enterprise data, business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or a related field, including experience leading teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including data pipelines, lakehouse or warehouse architecture, semantic models, Power Query, DAX, security, deployment, and performance optimization.
  • Strong SQL skills and demonstrated expertise in dimensional modeling, data integration, data quality, and reusable enterprise metric design.
  • Experience building or materially modernizing an enterprise reporting environment, not simply maintaining an established collection of reports.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, with the ability to connect activity, labor, revenue, margin, quality, and customer performance.
  • Exceptional communication and data-storytelling skills, including the ability to present to executive leadership and translate technical issues into business implications.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred education and experience
  • Experience in insurance, claims, professional services, or another labor-intensive, multi-division operating environment.
  • Experience integrating financial and operational data across acquired businesses, business units, or legacy platforms.
  • Experience supporting executive operating reviews, Board reporting, forecasting, and enterprise performance management.
