Job description

Gov Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Power Platform Developer to support enterprise modernization initiatives across government and defense environments. The ideal candidate brings extensive expertise in designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform. This role requires deep technical proficiency with Power Apps (Canvas and Model‑Driven), Dataverse, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft 365 integrations, and custom Power Platform development.
The Power Platform Developer will contribute to the design of enterprise-level solutions, establish development best practices, support platform governance, and mentor junior team members while delivering mission‑focused applications. Highly valued experience includes model‑driven application development, Dataverse architecture, custom web resources, ALM processes, and AI‑assisted development.
This position is primarily remote, with occasional on‑site collaboration in Washington, DC depending on project requirements.
Position Duties:
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy solutions using Power Apps Canvas and Model-Driven applications, including Dataverse-based solutions.
  • Develop complex workflows, business processes, and automations using Power Automate.
  • Design and implement Dataverse data models, including tables, relationships, security roles, field-level security, and business rules.
  • Develop custom Power Platform functionality using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS web resources, Power Fx, APIs, and custom connectors.
  • Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI.
  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft services and external systems, including SharePoint, SQL databases, Azure services, Dynamics 365, and third-party applications.
  • Support application lifecycle management (ALM) practices, including solution management, version control, deployment processes, and Git-based development workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and support user adoption.
  • Provide technical guidance, development standards, and best practices for Power Platform solution delivery.
  • Support Microsoft Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) activities, governance practices, and platform standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within Power Platform solutions to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing to improve Power Platform development maturity.
  • Apply emerging AI-assisted development capabilities to accelerate solution delivery while maintaining security, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Required:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Must possess Microsoft PL-400 (Power Platform Developer Associate) or PL-600 (Power Platform Solution Architect Expert) certification.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Professional experience with:
    • Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven)
    • Power Automate
    • Power BI
    • Dataverse
    • Microsoft 365 integrations
  • Experience designing and developing model-driven applications and Dataverse solutions.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript for custom Power Platform development; experience with HTML/CSS web resources required.
  • Understanding of C#/.NET for backend development, plugins, or advanced Power Platform extensions preferred.
  • Experience with Power Platform integrations using:
    • APIs
    • Custom connectors
    • Azure services
    • Dynamics 365 integrations
    • Experience with Power Platform security concepts, including:
    • Security roles
    • Field-level security
    • Auditing
    • Data access controls
  • Experience with application lifecycle management (ALM), solution deployment, and source control practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently analyze complex technical challenges.

Salary: $132,000-$137,000. Actual compensation offered to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
