Job description

The Credit Administration department oversees the loan portfolio to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and sound credit practices.  It supports the lending team by assisting in credit underwriting, documenting loan recommendations, and ensuring loans are properly structured and approved in a timely manner.


As a Credit Analyst, you will support the commercial lending process by performing financial analysis and assisting in the preparation of credit presentations for new and existing commercial relationships.  This role is suited for an analyst with a working knowledge of financial spreads and a strong foundational understanding of credit principles.

This position is available for remote work within the state of Georgia.  The candidate must be able to come into the office as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documents to assess the creditworthiness of prospective and existing commercial borrowers.
  • Prepare financial spreads and cash flow summaries using internal tools and software; interpret results to identify trends, repayment capacity, and potential risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of written credit memoranda, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative, for presentation to Credit Administration staff and Senior Management.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to gather necessary borrower information and provide analytical support in structuring credit facilities.
  • Contribute to periodic reviews of existing commercial credit relationships by analyzing updated financial information and identifying any early warning signs.
  • Other duties assigned to support the Credit Administration process.

EXPERIENCE | QUALIFICATIONS:


MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education
  • 3 years of experience as a Credit Analyst

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of financial statement analysis and core credit concepts.
  • Experience with financial spread software
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with loan policies, regulatory requirements, and credit underwriting practices as they apply within a community banking environment.
  • Desire to grow into more advanced credit analysis and underwriting responsibilities over time.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and support lenders with timely, accurate credit analysis and insights.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
  • Prior experience in a community or regional bank setting, with an understanding of local market considerations and relationship-based lending.
  • Experience underwriting CRE, owner-occupied real estate, and C&I loans, including analyzing NOI, debt service coverage, global cash flow, and collateral values.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate credit risk through thoughtful analysis, appropriate loan structuring, and well-supported recommendations.
  • Exposure to preparing or reviewing credit presentations for Senior Management or Loan Committee.
  • Working knowledge of loan covenants, collateral analysis, and risk rating methodologies.

COMPUTER / SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
