The position can be based in either our Ottawa or Washington, D.C. office, with remote or hybrid arrangements considered. Since your closest peers will not be in the same time zone as you, you will be expected to be intrinsically motivated to work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively with remote peers and global customers.

Essential Functions

  • Build, operate, and maintain web services and the supporting infrastructure.
  • Use Git and GitLab CI/CD to develop, test, and deploy tools and services.
  • Manage TLS certificates, reverse proxies, and related infrastructure for reliable service delivery.
  • Create and maintain data-collection pipelines, automation, and orchestration workflows using tools like NiFi, Airflow, n8n, and Playwright.
  • Support development teams across connected and disconnected environments, including use of cloud services where needed.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines, iOS signing/sideloading automation, and test infrastructure with containers and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve infrastructure, observability, and network reliability to support developer productivity.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada or the U.S. without visa sponsorship and be willing to collaborate across global time zones.
  • Eligibility to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • 8 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering, including disconnected/offline environments.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript, plus hands-on Git and GitLab pipeline experience.
  • Experience managing TLS certificates, reverse proxies, automation/orchestration tools, and headless browser automation.
  • Practical experience with AWS S3, Linux administration, VMware vSphere, virtual machines, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Solid networking knowledge, including Layer 2 concepts like VLANs, switch configuration, and network troubleshooting tools.
  • Comfortable working with Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Broader AWS experience, such as EC2, Lambda, and Route 53.
  • Experience supporting developers in disconnected environments.
  • Familiarity with storage and object storage platforms like TrueNAS Scale and MinIO.
  • Understanding of Layer 3 networking operations.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, and other IaC tools.
  • Familiarity with iOS build, code-signing, provisioning, and side-loading workflows.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Greater D.C area is $88,500 - $164,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
