Position Summary

The SAP ME/MII Specialist is responsible for the implementation and support of highly secure and resilient information technology solutions and is considered a subject matter expert.  Accountable for delivery of technical systems/solutions, plus the architecture and documentation within their area of technical expertise, supporting enterprise and global environments while focused on continuous improvement in support of the IT strategic vision and roadmap.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for SAP ME, MII, and Plant Connector applications, including resolving system issues, investigating root causes, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Leads the development and implementation of solutions that address new business requirements, risk management and producing standardized documentation 
  • Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and external vendors to analyze business requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements or new functionalities.
  • Monitor system performance, identify areas for optimization, and implement improvements to enhance system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Configure and maintain SAP ME and Plant Connector application settings, parameters, and master data to ensure accurate and efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to end-users to maximize system utilization and adoption
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to SAP ME, MII, and Plant Connector applications, and proactively recommend solutions to address business needs.
  • Stay abreast of new Digital and IT technological innovation/processes and researches the usage at Parker 
  • Understands business impact; Create and communicate decisions impacting the wider business, effectively managing customer expectations 
  • Guide and train team members in technical business skills & processes 
  • Applies and leads continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and improve system efficiencies within the Enterprise solutions working closely with division/group on localized systems.   
  • Performs IT life-cycle management methodologies, including design, system analysis of complex technologies with considerable scope, development, testing, project management (goals and objectives) and change management 
  • Performs benchmark analysis and ROI on existing & new Digital and IT solutions in order to estimate, develop and manage departmental/project budgets and cost/performance analysis. 
  • Establishes methods to monitor and improve performance of systems and processes; Identifies deficiencies in IT systems/processes and recommends solutions / areas for improvement 
  • Single point of contact for all communications with 3rd party vendors while managing project expectations 
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Available to provide after-hours technical support as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems, or related area (or international equivalent)
  • 15+ years of experience in IT, preferably with SAP products
  • Strong technical expertise in SAP ME, MII (Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence), Plant Connector, and related SAP modules (PP, MM, QM).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ME configuration, customization, and integration with shop floor equipment and systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • SAP certification(s) in relevant modules or technologies is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills   
  • Ability to maintain professional and strong relationships with business partners, contactors, and stakeholders  
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and can apply those processes to everyday work  
  • Experience in security best practices and compliancy requirements for area of expertise  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively  
  • Experience working in LAN/WAN support, help desk, PC Support, Software support
  • Experience working with Engineering and Manufacturing applications and IT Security preferred
  • Experience working with ERP/Business Systems such as SAP, MSS preferred
