Job Description/Responsibilities

Location:Remote (must be based in Dallas, Cincinnati, Des Moines, or Las Vegas) 

As a Space Planning Analyst, you will act as a pivotal link between data and the shelf, developing strategies that enhance category performance within the alcohol industry. This role goes beyond planogramming alone; it leverages deep shopper insights and analytical tools to consult on product placement and support key retailer initiatives. Success requires a blend of technical precision and the ability to partner cross-functionally to ensure optimal shelf execution and measurable results. 

What You'll Do 

  • Shelf & Category Strategy 
  • Convert consumer/shopper insights, sales data, and category strategies into effective shelf layouts that optimize performance and shopper flow. 
  • Clearly articulate insights to identify opportunities and provide recommendations, evaluating how shelving strategies drive measurable results for strategic accounts 
  • Collaboration & Influence 
  • Partner cross-functionally to lead retailer discussions with fact-based shelving recommendations, professional visuals, and category insights. 
  • Deliver persuasive reporting and presentations to both internal and external stakeholders, providing high-level communication and professional service. 
  • Act as a trusted partner to retailers and internal teams, leveraging expertise to influence decision-making at all levels of the organization. 
  • Planogram Analysis & Execution 
  • Evaluate planogram effectiveness to identify opportunities for optimizing share of shelf, product adjacencies, and shopper flow. 
  • Support the Category Leadership Team in executing space management initiatives to deliver best-in-class planograms for retail and wholesale partners 
  • Drive planogram reset projects by managing timelines, coordinating resources, and aligning cross-functional teams for successful execution. 
  • Lead critical pre-set activities, including data integrity/cleansing, planogram library and image management, and compliance with category guidelines. 
  • Ad Hoc Projects 
  • Support special initiatives related to assortment, shelving, and category reinvention 
Qualifications/Requirements

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, or related field. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in space planning, category management, or retail analytics. 
  • Proficiency in planogram software (JDA/Blue Yonder, Spaceman, Apollo, SMSB). 
  • Experience working with syndicated data sources (Circana/IRI, Nielsen) 
  • Strong analytical skills with Excel, Power BI, or Tableau. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%. 
  • Ability to work remotely. 
  • Valid driver's license. 

Preferred: 

  • Proven ability to integrate syndicated data sources (Circana/IRI, Nielsen) and Space Management Tools (Shelf IQ) into shelving and category strategies and recommendations. 
  • Experience in the Alcohol Beverage Industry or broader CPG industry. 
  • Familiarity with convenience, drug, and value channels (7-Eleven, Circle K, Casey's, CVS, Family Dollar, etc.).

The annual salary range for this role is $92,000-138,000. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal pay equity considerations.
