Position Summary:

The Countermeasure Technician executes Operations Event Support and plays an essential role in GXC’s Technical Operations team under the Countermeasure Division. This entry-level position focuses on the setup, deployment, and basic maintenance of CEIA OPENGATE and PMD (Walk-Through Metal Detector) systems, primarily used for securing high-traffic venues such as sports events, concerts, festivals, and conventions. This is a remote position event-based and scheduled according to operational demand. Technicians serve as GXC’s frontline technical ambassadors, ensuring mission readiness, equipment integrity, and client satisfaction in both dynamic and demanding operational environments.


Essential Functions

  • Assist in staging, deploying, and repacking CEIA OPENGATE and PMD systems at designated screening locations under the direction of senior staff or event leads.
  • Prepare batteries, power up units, and verify proper operation of detectors prior to gate opening. Replace or recharge batteries during events as needed.
  • GXC staff assist events based on specific client needs, ensure equipment functions properly, support gate operations, and provide guidance without assuming liability for event decisions.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with venue staff, guests, and team members.
  • Communicate clearly and report any issues promptly to the Technical Operations Manager or designated lead.
  • Clean, repack, and inventory detectors and associated gear. Assist in following the post-event inventory and wrap-up SOP, ensuring all units are accounted for.


Training & Development Path

Each technician will receive baseline training in:

  • CEIA OPENGATE and PMD functionality and setup
  • Basic safety, calibration, and operating procedures
  • Event-based SOPs include pre-deployment, accountability, and post-deployment tasks.
  • Communication protocols, professionalism, and site expectations.
  • This role serves as the foundation for future advancement into other full-time technician roles within the Countermeasure Division.


Required Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment faults in the field.
  • High precision in calibration, documentation, and system configuration.
  • Willingness to learn standard operating procedures and hands-on detector operations.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in outdoor or high-traffic environments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in response to project and event-based scheduling.
  • Comfortable working in varied conditions, including outdoor environments and fast-paced public venues.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel extensively, including multi-day assignments
  • and short-notice deployments.
  • Strong judgment, reliability, and a proactive mindset in handling emergency situations or
  • time-sensitive equipment issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous event staffing, security or technical support experience
  • Familiarity with CEIA systems
  • Military, law enforcement, or technical background is a plus
  • Additional education in security operations, systems engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Must reside within 49 miles of a major airport or regional event site.
  • The role is remote, with 80%-100% travel.
  • Pre-employment physical is required.
