Job description

Industry Marketing Manager (IMM)

Revenue-Oriented Industry Marketing Role

Role Summary

Hospitality runs on trust, but that trust is constantly tested after checkout as transactions continue moving across payment systems, payroll workflows, OTAs, reporting layers, and financial operations. That complexity creates margin leakage, operational friction, compliance risk, and brand exposure that most operators still underestimate. Evention exists to close that gap.

This role partners closely with the CMO to help bring Evention’s “Trust After Checkout” narrative to market through campaigns, events, thought leadership, benchmark initiatives, and strategic programs. You will stay close to customers, industry trends, commercial conversations, and competitive movement to continuously sharpen how Evention shows up in the market.

The industry already knows Evention. What it does not yet fully understand is the scale of the problem we solve and the cost of not solving it. Your role is to help close that gap.

We are looking for someone who moves quickly, thinks commercially, ships often, and uses AI tools and emerging technologies to help a lean team execute at a high level.

What You’ll Own

Industry Narrative & Market Activation

  • Partner with the CMO and Leadership to activate Evention’s strategic narrative across hospitality and adjacent industries
  • Translate company messaging into industry campaigns, event themes, customer initiatives, and market programs
  • Help refine how concepts like “Trust After Checkout” resonate in real-world commercial conversations
  • Ensure Evention consistently connects complex financial operations to business outcomes like margin protection, payroll confidence, compliance, operational efficiency, and brand trust
  • Support category-building initiatives that strengthen Evention’s position as the Financial Trust Layer for hospitality

Commercial & Market Alignment

  • Stay closely connected to customers, prospects, sales conversations, and market trends to continuously improve how Evention shows up in the market
  • Gather feedback from frontline teams and customer interactions to identify where messaging resonates, where confusion exists, and where opportunities emerge
  • Partner with commercial leadership to support pipeline-generating campaigns, strategic initiatives, and GTM execution
  • Help strengthen Evention’s credibility with enterprise operators, finance leaders, ownership groups, and hospitality decision-makers

Industry Presence & Thought Leadership

  • Support Evention’s strategic presence across events such as HITEC and HOSPACE, hospitality associations such as HFTP, webinars, benchmark initiatives, and executive thought leadership programs
  • Help identify market opportunities, partnerships, speaking engagements, and industry programs that align to Evention’s growth strategy
  • Coordinate research, benchmark, and market insight initiatives that strengthen Evention’s authority around post-checkout financial operations and financial trust
  • Contribute to content, panels, webinars, and event programming that help shape how the industry thinks about financial accuracy after checkout

AI-Forward Marketing Execution

  • Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate execution, improve research quality, streamline workflows, and uncover market insights
  • Explore new ways to improve marketing speed, personalization, GTM effectiveness, and market visibility using AI
  • Build scalable workflows that help a lean team operate with the speed and output of a much larger organization
  • Help push the organization forward in how AI is applied across modern B2B marketing and customer engagement

What Success Looks Like

  • Evention’s messaging consistently resonates in market conversations and customer interactions
  • Industry programs and campaigns contribute to pipeline creation and progression
  • Evention strengthens its positioning as the Financial Trust Layer for hospitality operators
  • Benchmark and thought leadership initiatives generate engagement, credibility, and market visibility
  • Evention’s presence at strategic industry events drives stronger market awareness and commercial momentum
  • Customer and market feedback loops improve GTM execution and messaging clarity
  • Marketing moves faster without sacrificing quality or strategic focus
  • Cross-functional alignment improves across marketing, sales, product, and customer-facing teams
  • Evention strengthens its authority around Trust After Checkout and post-checkout financial operations

Location: Chicago, IL (Downtown Loop) — Hybrid preferred. We also welcome fully remote candidates located in MI, FL, NC, or MA.

Eligibility: Applicant must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship. Evention does not sponsor.

Salary Range: $110,000 - 120,000 depending on Experience

Benefits: Evention LLC offers benefits inclusive of medical and dental coverage, a 401k plan with matching, a commuter benefits plan, life insurance, vision insurance, and a bonus plan.
