Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients experiencing mood disorders to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of their symptoms.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, goals, and preferences, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care techniques.
  • Monitor client progress and systematically adjust treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations and client feedback.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration by working alongside psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain current knowledge of research and developments in the field of mood disorders to refine treatment methodologies.
  • Document all client interactions and treatment plans meticulously, adhering to ethical and legal standards for confidentiality and best practices.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work primarily with adults facing mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, requiring a therapist who is sensitive to varying cultural perspectives and able to build trusting therapeutic relationships. The focus will be on fostering a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their emotions and challenges.

Qualifications
  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
