Position Overview

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and infrastructure components that support Monetary Metals’ technology platform. This full-time, fully remote position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of engineers to deliver innovative, scalable, and secure software solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with problem-solving abilities and a passion for building high-quality applications that align with the company’s mission.

Key Objectives

  • Develop and maintain high-quality web applications that meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new product features.
  • Implement best practices for clean, efficient, and secure coding standards.
  • Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability across all systems and applications. Continuously improve development processes and stay current with emerging technologies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Application Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL or React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
  • Ensure software solutions are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

AWS Infrastructure & Cloud Development

  • Work with AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, IAM roles, endpoints, and VPCs in a multi-account environment.
  • Support deployment processes and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows.
  • Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the company’s cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Code Quality & Documentation

  • Maintain and improve existing codebases, performing refactoring as needed for quality and maintainability.

    Document system architecture, APIs, and application workflows for internal reference and scalability.

    Ensure all work adheres to established standards for reliability, testing, and security compliance.
    Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • 3–5 years of professional experience as a software developer or engineer.
  • Proficiency in one or more full-stack technologies: PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL, or React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with AWS services and DevOps practices such as CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and version control (Git)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities with a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.
