Job description

HERS Advisors is seeking a driven, results-oriented individual to provide operational leadership and direction to the design, development, implementation, and management of software development processes in support of the Medication Therapy Management (MTM) service. As Manager, Software Engineering in our Product Engineering org, you will be responsible for working closely with Product, Design, Clinical, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory and other cross-functional partners to deliver a world class set of solutions.

This position requires mentoring and collaborating cross-functionally while working with an Agile delivery mindset. The successful candidate will be independent and self-driven and will thrive in challenging and growing environment. We are looking for an individual who can think nimbly, mentor technically and professionally, is a strong people manager and is passionate about technology.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Experience leading Technical Leads and multiple engineering teams.
  • Lead a full stack development team leveraging PHP and .NET.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering solutions that can be monitored, alerted on, and tested.
  • Strong experience with incident management and guiding teams to quick resolutions
  • Familiarity with delivering fully functional product increments over time.
  • Mentored and led a team of engineers through medium to large scale solutions.
  • Lead teams in development of Reporting/BI focused solutions including Looker and Python.
  • Self-starter with an ability to manage multiple technical projects in parallel
    • As needed, ability to code review and provide recommendations
    • Follow engineering best practices, leveraging expertise to forecast the landscape and propose innovations
    • Management of DB2 DBAs and Data Operations teams.
    • Management of Database/ETL Developers (Talend/PHP)

      Qualifications/Skills

      • 8 plus years of software industry experience and a minimum of 3 years leading software development teams of more than 3 developers.
      • Experience leading mid to large size software projects from a technical and project management perspective.
      • Experience with implementing database solutions.
      • Experience and passion working with Product management, clinical teams and business stakeholders.
      • Experience with systems roll-outs, adhering to change management, transitions from project phase to on-going systems support
      • Experience in leveraging Application Performance Monitoring Tools in troubleshooting application performance issues
      • Diligent attention to detail, processes and quality of outputs
      • Work well under pressure and can resolve complex problems
      • Works in a collaborative fashion, elevates team results over individual results
      • Preferred - Strong Healthcare domain knowledge

      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or related practical experience.
