What does a remote photo video editor do?

A Remote Photo Video Editor is responsible for editing and enhancing photos and videos from a remote location, often working from home or another offsite environment. Their tasks typically include color correction, trimming footage, adding effects, and assembling final products according to client or project specifications. They use specialized software like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro to achieve professional results. This role requires strong technical skills, creativity, and the ability to collaborate with clients or teams through online communication tools.

How do remote photo video editors typically collaborate with photographers and clients to ensure project requirements are met?

Remote Photo Video Editors often work closely with photographers, videographers, and clients through digital communication tools such as email, project management software, and video calls. Clear communication is essential to understand creative direction, deadlines, and feedback. Editors may participate in regular check-ins, share drafts for review, and quickly incorporate revisions to align with the client’s vision. Building strong virtual relationships and maintaining responsiveness are key to successful collaboration in a remote setting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote photo video editor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Photo Video Editor, you need strong proficiency in photo and video editing, a keen eye for visual storytelling, and a portfolio demonstrating your creative expertise. Familiarity with industry-standard tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and knowledge of digital asset management systems are typically required. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and communication skills set top editors apart when collaborating remotely with clients or teams. These abilities ensure high-quality content delivery, efficient workflows, and successful client satisfaction in a remote work context.

Job description

About Ajaia

Ajaia is a fast-growing AI consultancy and product studio that helps organizations move from experimentation to real results. We work across AI Strategy, AI Engineering and Automation, Workforce Enablement, and Custom Product Development, and we build our own AI products alongside client work.

Our mission is to help organizations win the AI moment.

About the role

You will own content execution across social, short and long-form video, podcast workflows, and training video.

You own the calendar, the output, and the numbers. You write platform-native content for LinkedIn, X, and email. You edit video people actually finish watching. You build the AI-assisted workflows that make all of it faster without making it generic.

This role is AI-forward by design. You will use AI daily for ideation, scripting, editing, repurposing, and QA. We expect you to already work this way.

What you will do

  • Own social content operations from planning to publishing to performance reporting
  • Write platform-native content for LinkedIn, X, and email newsletters
  • Edit short and long-form video for marketing and thought leadership
  • Run podcast post-production, clips, and distribution
  • Produce and edit training video for internal and client-facing use
  • Build reusable AI-assisted workflows for scripting, editing, and repurposing
  • Hold the line on brand voice and quality across every output

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years in social content, video editing, or multi-channel content management
  • Demonstrated ownership of publishing workflows and deadlines
  • Strong writing for LinkedIn, X, and email newsletter formats
  • Experience editing training or educational video
  • Evidence of AI-native execution in daily content work
  • Strong written communication and async habits on a remote team

Portfolio, required. Applications without samples will not be reviewed: LinkedIn, X, email newsletter, and video editing samples covering both short and long-form.

Schedule. Fully remote, with required overlap 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.

Technical. Wired internet 100 Mbps minimum. Intel Core i7, Ryzen 7, or Apple Silicon with 16GB RAM and 256GB free storage. Windows 11 or current macOS. 1080p webcam and mic. Backup power and internet.

Process. Application and portfolio review, two-hour practical assessment, hiring manager interview, final conversation with leadership.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus performance incentives
  • Performance bonus up to 100 percent of base
  • Fully remote with earned flexibility
  • Professional development budget
  • Paid time off

Why join Ajaia

You will own a broad content function spanning social, video, podcast, and training, not one narrow slice of it. You will build thought leadership at a company doing AI implementation work that reaches production, and design scalable content systems rather than grinding out one-off assets.

Let's build what's next.
