The Opportunity
Joining the social team as a Social Editor means you will be servicing content to hundreds of thousands of our pre-existing audience on a daily basis, working with the other members of the social team to strategize content pieces and be a driving force in creating one of the largest Pop music brands on social. We are looking to bring on a creative individual who is very passionate about Pop music and interested in making a direct impact immediately. You'll join a fast-moving, supportive team that celebrates experimentation and moving at the speed of culture.
Responsibilities
  • Driving Social Performance: Driving growth & engagement across @pophive's social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook
  • Content Creation: Creating, publish, & curate a minimum of 15 pieces of content per day.
  • Identifying Cultural Opportunities: Identify emerging pop culture trends, memes, and conversations - and translate them into timely, platform-native content.
  • Breaking The News: Work alongside the social team to roll out stories, breaking news, and editorial content across social throughout the day and into the night/weekend hours.
  • Community Management: Engage directly with the PopHive audience via comments, replies, and story polls to foster community connection and collect insights
  • Post Creation: Use design software like Photoshop to create formatted posts and graphics.
  • Stay On The Pulse: Monitor social media trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and stay up-to-date with best practices.
  • Leverage Data To Drive Social Insights: Monitor and analyze social media metrics, such as impressions, engagement, and audience sentiment, to evaluate the effectiveness of content strategies and provide data-driven insights.
  • Support Sales Campaigns: Collaborate with sales team to roll out ad campaigns in a timely manner.

Must Have
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing and growing social media accounts for brands or publishers.
  • Deep knowledge of core social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, Threads) and their evolving best practices.
  • Intermediate experience with graphic design skills in services such as Photoshop
  • A deep understanding of journalism guidelines, accuracy, and fact-checking standards.
  • Passionate about Pop music and fluent in intersection of current music, artists, and the pop culture landscape.
  • Strong communication skills & experience working within a team + across departments (editorial, video, design.)
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong eye for grammar, tone, and voice.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable using analytics tools (e.g., Instagram Insights, Measure Studio, or similar) to inform strategy and optimize performance.
