POSITION SUMMARY

The temporary Content and Social Media Specialist leads brand marketing strategy and execution across social media, influencer, experiential, and digital content channels while covering and supporting the CIA’s Content & Social Media Manager responsibilities during their absence.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead brand marketing strategy across influencer, experiential/events, social media, earned media, and digital content production.
  • Manage and support the Content & Social Media Manager’s responsibilities in guiding day-to-day channel execution, new and in-progress campaigns/events, vendor management, and relationship building.
  • Support on-site execution of experiential activations, classes, and events, including capturing social content.
  • Build pre-, during, and post-event promotion plans to drive attendance and extend reach beyond attendees.
  • Deliver post-event recaps covering attendance, engagement, and learnings for future activations.
  • Identify influencers and develop influencer campaigns, including influencer attendance at events and classes and brand collaborations.
  • Negotiate influencer agreements, including rates, deliverables, and content usage rights, and manage product gifting and seeding programs.
  • Drive conversion from social media and digital channels to registrations for events, conferences, classes, boot camps, and restaurant reservations.
  • Manage paid social campaigns and boosted posts, including budget tracking and performance optimization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with the email team to recommend emails that tie into brand marketing, providing copy and edited assets.
  • Maintain content calendars, copywriting, and selection of creative assets.
  • Oversee digital content production, including coordinating photo and video shoots with internal teams, freelancers, or agencies.
  • Provide regular status and performance updates to marketing leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Create monthly social media analytics reports and translate insights into strategy. Measure influencer and event campaign performance against goals, tracking ROI on partnerships and activations.
  • Document works in progress throughout the engagement and deliver a structured handoff when the Manager returns.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.

Experience: 

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in brand marketing and/or digital marketing with a brand or agency, spanning social media, influencer, and experiential marketing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of culinary trends, chef culture, pop culture, and the restaurant industry.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong fluency in Canva, Sprout Social, Meta, Pinterest, and TikTok.
  • Photo editing proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong analytics fluency — able to pull insights from social media data and turn them into strategy.
  • Proven vendor management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
