Job description

Greenlight is the leading family fintech company on a mission to help parents raise financially smart kids. We proudly serve more than 6 million parents and kids with our award-winning banking app for families. With Greenlight, parents can automate allowance, manage chores, set flexible spend controls, and invest for their family's future. Kids and teens learn to earn, save, spend wisely, and invest.
At Greenlight, we believe every child should have the opportunity to become financially healthy and happy. It's no small task, and that's why we leap out of bed every morning to come to work. Because creating a better, brighter future for the next generation depends on it.
Greenlight is looking for a Video Editor, Paid Social to help bring our creative strategy to life on screen. You'll take briefs, raw footage, and creator content and turn them into fast, scroll-stopping videos built specifically for paid social (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc). This is a great role for someone early in their editing career who already has strong instincts for pacing, hooks, and platform-native storytelling, and wants to sharpen those instincts against real performance data.
This is a hands-on, production-focused role with room to grow. We're looking for someone who's fast and detail-oriented in the edit bay, but who's equally hungry to understand why an edit works.
Your day-to-day:
  • Edit short-form video for paid social from creative briefs, raw footage, and creator-submitted content
  • Build strong hooks and pacing designed to stop the scroll in the first 1-3 seconds, and hold attention through the full spot
  • Produce multiple cuts and variants (lengths, aspect ratios, hooks, captions) for testing across platforms
  • Partner with creative strategists to understand the "why" behind a brief and translate it into clear visual choices
  • Incorporate feedback rooted in strategic intent, not just aesthetic preference
  • Help identify opportunities to improve an edit based on what's worked in past campaigns
  • Edit specifically for the platform: correct specs, safe zones, captions/subtitles, and native creative conventions for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Stay current on platform trends, formats, and editing styles that are performing well in paid social right now
  • Review and edit raw creator footage into polished, on-brief assets
  • Flag gaps in creator-submitted footage that may limit what's possible in the edit, and help problem-solve around them
  • Work closely with creative strategists, brand, and other editors in a fast-paced, iterative production cycle
  • Take structured feedback well and turn revisions around quickly without losing craft
  • Organize and manage project files, versions, and exports so work is easy to hand off and track

What you'll bring to the team:
  • 1-3 years of experience editing video for paid social, social media, or digital marketing; agency, in-house brand, or freelance experience welcome
  • A strong reel demonstrating short-form editing chops - pacing, hooks, captions, and platform-native formatting
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro and/or CapCut (After Effects a plus)
  • Solid understanding of specs, trends, and best practices across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube
  • An eye for what makes content perform, and curiosity about the strategy and data behind it
  • Comfortable working with raw, imperfect creator footage and making it shine
  • Organized and detail-oriented - you keep versions, exports, and file names clean under deadline pressure
  • Coachable self-starter who takes feedback well and is eager to build speed and range over time

Nice to have:
  • Experience editing UGC/creator content specifically for paid ad campaigns
  • Familiarity with fintech, family finance, or consumer subscription products
  • Basic motion graphics or animation skills
  • Experience contributing to or reading paid social performance data (CTR, hook rate, thumb-stop rate) to inform edits

Work perks at Greenlight:
  • Medical, dental, vision, and HSA match
  • Paid life insurance, AD&D, and disability benefits
  • Traditional 401k with company match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Paid company holidays and pop-up bonus holidays
  • Professional development stipends
  • Mental health resources
  • 1:1 financial planners
  • Fertility healthcare
  • 100% paid parental and caregiving leave, plus cleaning service and meals during your leave
  • Flexible WFH, both remote and in-office opportunities
  • Fully stocked kitchen, catered lunches, and occasional in-office happy hours
  • Employee resource groups

Our stance on salaries:
Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.
The estimated base pay range for this position in (NY, CA, WA): $55,000- 95,000
