Remote Pharmacy Software information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Pharmacy Software Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Pharmacy Software Specialist, you need comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations, information technology, and a relevant background in pharmacy or computer science. Familiarity with pharmacy management systems, e-prescribing platforms, and certifications such as CPhT or IT credentials are typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and customer service skills help you support pharmacy staff remotely and resolve technical issues efficiently. These competencies ensure seamless software implementation, minimize downtime, and maintain compliance in digital pharmacy environments.

What is remote pharmacy software?

Remote pharmacy software is a digital platform that allows pharmacists and pharmacy staff to manage prescriptions, patient records, medication dispensing, and other pharmacy operations from a remote location. These systems often include features such as telepharmacy consultations, electronic prescribing, inventory management, and secure communication tools. Remote pharmacy software enables pharmacies to serve patients who may not be able to visit in person, improving access to medication management and pharmacy services. It also helps streamline pharmacy workflows and ensures compliance with healthcare regulations.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working with remote pharmacy software, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals working with remote pharmacy software often encounter challenges such as ensuring data security, maintaining patient privacy, and navigating technical issues like connectivity or software updates. Effective communication with both patients and healthcare providers can also require extra attention in a remote setting. To address these, it's important to stay updated on software best practices, participate in regular training, and collaborate closely with IT and compliance teams. Proactively troubleshooting and maintaining open communication lines helps ensure smooth, secure, and efficient workflow.

Company Overview

Over the next ten years, there will be at least 4.6 million hospitalizations from the misuse of prescription drugs in people 65 or older, resulting in $528 billion in annual avoidable costs. RxAnte is on a mission to improve people's health by helping them get more from medicines. A rapidly growing, tech-enabled healthcare services company with over 30 million lives under management, RxAnte has become a leading provider of value-based pharmacy care management solutions for health plans.

Using data, advanced analytics, specialized software, and pharmacy automation, Mosaic is transforming the pharmacy experience for medically complex seniors while also helping payers achieve their quality improvement and cost savings objectives.

How You'll Make a Difference

In this role, you will be the first voice new patients hear at Mosaic, guiding them through onboarding by conducting telephone and video consultations, gathering medication history, reconciling prescriptions, and preparing them for a smooth start with our pharmacy.

Your work directly supports medically complex and vulnerable seniors across the country, giving them a trusted, empathetic guide from their very first interaction and helping make their medication regimens safer, simpler, and more affordable.

  • Synchronize medication regimens and schedule the initial medication shipment.
  • Contact previous pharmacies to coordinate prescription transfers.
  • Collaborate with prescribers to obtain new prescriptions.
  • Address patient questions about insurance, costs, and coverage, and support claims processing and third-party billing issues.
  • Enter prescription details accurately into the pharmacy system for precise, timely medication fulfillment.
  • Document patient information thoroughly and accurately in the pharmacy management system.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting with direct patient interaction, such as home health, hospital, primary or specialty care, or pharmacy.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including empathetic listening and clear verbal and written expression.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software and general computer applications.
  • Availability to work a full-time 8.5-hour shift, Monday through Friday, scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Eastern, with the exact shift confirmed at hire and occasional overtime based on patient needs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company-sponsored visa sponsorship.

Preferred

  • 1 to 2 years of call center experience.
  • Experience collecting medication histories.

Conditions of Employment

All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.
