Job Description
Job Title: Senior Clinical Consultant, Pharmacy Automation
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Consultant in Pharmacy Automation with a strong emphasis on central fill pharmacy operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide clinical and operational expertise to support the design, implementation, optimization, and long-term success of pharmacy automation solutions, particularly within central fill environments. This consultant will engage with customers throughout the full customer lifecycle, from pre-sale discovery and workflow assessment to post-implementation optimization and continuous improvement, ensuring solutions align with pharmacy practice standards, central fill operational goals, and patient care needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in central fill pharmacy operations, clinical workflow design, and pharmacy automation consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with sales, solution design, and implementation teams to assess customer clinical and operational needs, with a particular focus on central fill pharmacy environments.
  • Lead pharmacy workflow assessments and provide expert guidance on best practices for central fill pharmacy operations, including high-volume fulfillment, medication handling, and workflow efficiency.
  • Develop and recommend optimized clinical and operational workflows tailored to each customer's central fill environment, automation footprint, and performance goals.
  • Conduct on-site assessments, readiness evaluations, and post-go-live optimization reviews for central fill pharmacy operations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers on medication-use processes, central fill pharmacy workflows, and automation adoption strategies.
  • Support customer education, change management, and adoption of pharmacy automation solutions within central fill settings.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and optimization opportunities in clear, professional reports and presentations with actionable insights for central fill operations.
  • Partner with Sales Engineers, implementation teams, R&D, and product teams to ensure successful customer outcomes in central fill pharmacy automation projects.
  • Conduct regular follow-up visits and business reviews to assess central fill performance, customer satisfaction, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma and 5 years of experience in central fill pharmacy operations, pharmacy automation consulting, sales consulting, solution design support, or a related healthcare environment in required.
  • Experience presenting recommendations and solution concepts to healthcare executives highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy/Pharm.D. preferred.

Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of BD central fill pharmacy operations, medication-use workflows, and pharmacy automation systems.
  • Experience with using EPIC WAM in a central fill environment
  • Strong consultative skills with the ability to assess central fill workflows and recommend practical operational improvements.
  • Experience leading customer-facing assessments, optimization initiatives, and workflow redesign efforts in central fill pharmacy settings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior customer stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
