Lochner, an Egis company is recruiting for a Payroll Specialist in Monterey Park, CA.  A Payroll Specialist with 5 or more years of combined experience in Payroll within California and multi state (Exempt and Non-Exempt) experience.

Requirements:

  • Monitors timesheet submission and approval process in Vision Software on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Assist employees and managers with questions on timesheets and payroll matters, while providing prompt and excellent customer service.
  • Completes the quality control process for timesheets and posts bi-weekly timesheets.
  • Convert and import timesheet data from Vision Software to Paycom bi-weekly.
  • Accurately calculates final term pay, disability and leave of absence pay, along with pro-rated benefits as necessary for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Prepares and enters Data Sets into HRIS system in preparation for payroll.
  • Provides timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly, multi-state payroll in Paycom.
  • Review payroll reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile PTO and Holiday hours for all employees after each payroll posting for both Vision Software and Paycom.
  • Creates and produces various Paycom reports with the ability to analyze and check for outliers.
  • Provides payroll certifications as requested.
  • Prepares employee verification of employment forms for various agencies.
  • Continuously seeks ways to improve payroll processing by thinking outside the box, making recommendations, and putting those ideas into production.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality of sensitive information and secures all appropriate documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High levels of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organization skills
  • Competent with Excel software and HRIS system navigation
  • University/College Degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field
  • Understands payroll concepts including gross to net, pre-tax benefits, supplemental wages/tax, disposable earnings, local, state, federal wage and tax laws, and labor laws.
  • 5+ years of recent payroll processing experience strongly preferred
  • Understands general ledger coding concepts at company, profit center, and account number levels
  • Prior Paycom payroll experience strongly preferred
  • Multi-state payroll processing experience preferred
