Job description

Position Summary: The Patient Access Representative I - Scheduling must obtain all information related to the appointment to include patient demographics, related benefit information and method of referral in a call center environment. They must schedule patients based on need and physician protocol.
Compensation
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Compensation is based on experience, certification level, and relevant orthopedic or high-volume clinical background.
Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be a high school graduate.
  • 1 or more years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Registration, scheduling, healthcare benefits experience helpful.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Able to multi-task and handle high call volumes.
  • Must have working knowledge of Windows based computer environment and typing skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register all new patient in the computer system by obtaining patient demographics and insurance information and source of referral. Confirm and update all information from prior visit if needed.
  • Handle all scheduling requests according to physician and authorization protocols
  • Assure compliance with all company plans policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
  • All other duties as assigned.
