These nurses typically support NICU teams and families through telehealth, offering guidance on care, patient education, follow-up consultations, or monitoring of neonates. This role allows experienced NICU nurses to use their expertise outside of traditional hospital settings, often providing more flexible work arrangements.

To thrive as a Remote Part Time RN NICU, you need a valid RN license, specialized neonatal intensive care experience, and often a BSN or higher degree. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and neonatal monitoring technologies is typically required. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and emotional resilience are crucial soft skills for supporting families and collaborating remotely with the healthcare team. These competencies ensure safe, effective care for vulnerable infants and smooth coordination across virtual and clinical environments.

What are some unique challenges of working as a remote part time RN in the NICU, and how can I prepare for them?
