Head of Business Development, EMEA – Bioprocess / Chromatography


Location: Remote/Home-Based – Europe
Territory: Europe, Middle East & Africa (primary focus on Europe)
Travel: Approximately 50–60%

About the Role


Sepax Bioscience is seeking an experienced Head of Business Development, EMEA to build and grow our process chromatography and purification business throughout the EMEA region.

This is a territory-building role for an experienced bioprocess commercial professional who can identify new opportunities, develop process-scale accounts, and establish Sepax as a trusted purification partner within the biopharmaceutical industry.


The position will initially be an individual contributor role, with the opportunity to build a regional team as the business grows. You will serve as Sepax's primary commercial presence in the region while working with our existing European representatives, distributors, and technical teams in the United States and China.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and grow sales of Sepax process chromatography media, columns, and purification solutions across EMEA.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new biopharmaceutical and process-scale customer accounts.
  • Build and execute territory and account development strategies.
  • Develop strong relationships with downstream processing, process development, and purification customers.
  • Lead technical discussions, product demonstrations, seminars, workshops, and customer training.
  • Coordinate customer sample requests, evaluations, and technical follow-up.
  • Maintain regular face-to-face engagement with customers throughout the territory.
  • Manage an accurate sales pipeline and provide forecasts, account updates, and competitive intelligence.
  • Collaborate closely with Sepax sales, marketing, technical, and operations teams in the U.S. and China.


Qualifications


Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or European equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 8+ years of sales, marketing, or business development experience in the bioprocess industry.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and developing a sales territory.
  • Proven success developing and winning new process-scale customer accounts.
  • Strong understanding of bioprocessing, downstream purification, and related products and markets.
  • Excellent technical communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel internationally.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 50–60% throughout the territory, with occasional travel to the United States and China.
  • Must reside within reasonable travel distance of a major international airport.
  • Must have an existing unrestricted right to work in the country of residence. Visa sponsorship is not available.


Preferred:

  • Advanced scientific degree.
  • Practical chromatography experience involving process development, purification, and/or FPLC systems.
  • Experience conducting technical seminars, customer training, and product demonstrations.
  • Business-level proficiency in German and/or French, if Sepax decides to include that preference.


Employment Structure

This is a full-time position employed through Sepax's Employer of Record (EOR) partner in the candidate's country of residence. The employee will work exclusively for and under the direction of Sepax. Employment terms and benefits will follow applicable requirements in the country of employment.
