To thrive as a Remote Packaging Designer, you need a solid background in graphic design principles, proficiency in packaging design, and a portfolio showcasing relevant experience or a degree in design. Familiarity with industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), 3D rendering tools, and knowledge of packaging production processes are important, and certification in design can be a plus.
