Job description

PROLIM (www.prolim.com) is currently seeking Data Migration Lead - R&D Application Separation & Migration (Prior Aerospace / ITAR experience preferred)for one of our top Client for Location:100% Remote

  • Lead data discovery and assessment with application owners, R&D/Engineering SMEs, and technical teams to define migration/purging requirements.
  • Assess databases, file repositories, document stores, and interfaces to establish inventories for migration, retention, archival, or purging.
  • Translate purge/retention requirements into technical rules (filters, exclusions, dependencies, expected results).
  • Analyze data dependencies and referential integrity to prevent unintended impacts.
  • Conduct data profiling, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation pre- and post-purge.
  • Define and lead end-to-end migration approach (extraction, transformation, loading, validation, reconciliation, exception handling).
  • Develop and execute SQL scripts, ETL processes, APIs, stored procedures, and utilities; perform code reviews and non-production testing.
  • Support SIT/UAT, production cutover, and hypercare, resolving migration and reconciliation issues.
  • Provide traceability and reporting on readiness, progress, purge results, risks, and dependencies.
Required Qualifications
  • 12-15+ years in data migration, ETL, database development, or enterprise application migration.
  • Proven leadership of data workstreams in large-scale migration, separation, divestiture, or transformation programs.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or equivalent RDBMS.
  • Experience developing/executing data migration and purging scripts.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts, data integration methodologies, and reconciliation frameworks.
  • Skilled in handling complex parent/child dependencies and migrating structured/unstructured data.
  • Experience with mock migrations, production cutovers, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to translate business purge/retention requirements into executable rules.
