As a mental health counselor at Union Family Counseling Center, you will operate in a fully remote setting, allowing for flexibility while maintaining professional interactions through digital communication platforms. Our outpatient office provides a virtual space where you can connect with clients at their convenience, ensuring that therapy remains accessible and personalized.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations, assessing clients' emotional health and behavioral patterns.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluations, tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based approaches to guide discussions and interventions.
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment, adjusting therapeutic strategies as needed to optimize recovery outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, physicians, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care pathways for clients.
• Conduct follow-up consultations with other healthcare professionals regarding clients who may require hospitalization, facilitating smooth transitions and continuity of care.
• Assist family members and caregivers by providing education and support regarding mental health challenges and effective coping techniques.
• Manage and maintain an accurate electronic health record using systems like AVATAR to ensure compliance and quality tracking of client data.

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals facing various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Your empathetic approach will help clients navigate complex emotional landscapes, fostering growth and resilience through your therapeutic interventions. The goal is to empower clients to achieve optimal mental health and enhance their quality of life.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to document case notes and interact effectively with clients.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills characterized by empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport.

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor with practical exposure to various therapeutic modalities.
• Familiarity with best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Proficiency in managing health conditions, including addiction disorders, and a solid understanding of medications prescribed by medical professionals.
• Experience in crisis intervention and handling complex cases throughout the treatment lifecycle.
