Job description

Huron helps its clients drive growth, enhance performance and sustain leadership in the markets they serve. We help healthcare organizations build innovation capabilities and accelerate key growth initiatives, enabling organizations to own the future, instead of being disrupted by it. Together, we empower clients to create sustainable growth, optimize internal processes and deliver better consumer outcomes.
Health systems, hospitals and medical clinics are under immense pressure to improve clinical outcomes and reduce the cost of providing patient care. Investing in new partnerships, clinical services and technology is not enough to create meaningful and substantive change. To succeed long-term, healthcare organizations must empower leaders, clinicians, employees, affiliates and communities to build cultures that foster innovation to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
Joining the Huron team means you'll help our clients evolve and adapt to the rapidly changing healthcare environment and optimize existing business operations, improve clinical outcomes, create a more consumer-centric healthcare experience, and drive physician, patient and employee engagement across the enterprise.
Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future.
Huron is a global professional services firm that helps healthcare organizations achieve sustainable, measurable results across strategy, technology, operations, and analytics. Our Digital practice works alongside healthcare clients to design, build, and improve the data and reporting solutions that drive clinical, operational, and financial performance.
Position summary
Huron is hiring an experienced Digital Technical Specialist to lead healthcare data extraction, reporting, and analytics work for our clients. The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare data professional who understands how healthcare data lives inside EHR systems, and you can get it out cleanly, whether that means writing CCL against Oracle Health (Cerner) or extracting from MEDITECH, Epic, and other platforms.
You are well rounded, self-directed, and genuinely strong with healthcare data from the start. You bring the judgment to turn clinical, operational, and financial reporting needs into sound technical solutions, and you deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight in fast-paced client environments.
What you will do
  • Extract healthcare data across EHR systems. Pull clean, accurate data from Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH, Epic, and other platforms to support reporting and analytics.

  • Write and maintain CCL. Develop, test, and tune Cerner Command Language (CCL) queries for data extraction against Oracle Health (Cerner).

  • Build SQL-based extracts and datasets. Write and tune SQL queries, data extracts, and reporting datasets for analysis and reporting.

  • Deliver reports and dashboards. Build, enhance, and support reports and dashboards in SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

  • Translate clinical and business needs into technical solutions. Work directly with client stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements and turn them into sound technical designs.

  • Support the full range of healthcare reporting. Contribute to clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory reporting use cases.

  • Support data integration and transformation. Use SQL Server, SSIS, and related tools to move and shape data.

  • Document your work clearly. Produce clear, client-ready documentation of designs, processes, and solutions.

  • Work independently within a team. Manage your own priorities and deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight, while collaborating with the broader project team.

What you bring
  • 3 to 5 or more years of healthcare experience (required). Direct, hands-on experience working with healthcare data in a clinical, financial, operational, or IT setting. This is a hard requirement.

  • Multi-EHR data extraction. Proven ability to extract and work with data from Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH, Epic, or other EHR platforms.

  • CCL (Cerner Command Language). Ability to write, test, and maintain CCL for data extraction against Oracle Health (Cerner), not SQL alone.

  • Strong SQL. Solid command of SQL for querying, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Reporting tools. Hands-on experience with one or more of SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau.

  • SQL Server ecosystem. Experience with SQL Server (data structures and performance) and with Visual Studio and SSIS for report and data integration development.

  • Report writing and data analysis. Demonstrated experience turning raw data into usable, accurate reporting.

  • Independence and communication. Ability to manage priorities and deliver with minimal oversight, plus clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Education. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have
  • Broader Oracle Health (Cerner) product knowledge beyond CCL.

  • Proprietary EHR reporting tools such as MEDITECH BCA, Report Writer, or Report Designer.

  • Oracle or Postgres database systems and related querying tools.

  • RPA or scripting and automation tools such as Boston Workstation or Summit.

  • Prior consulting or client-facing experience.

  • Experience supporting large-scale healthcare IT or analytics implementations.

  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics in a healthcare context.

  • Team or project leadership experience.

What we look for at Huron
  • Deep healthcare data expertise and the judgment that comes with it.

  • Self-starters who take ownership and see work through.

  • Strong collaborators who can also operate independently.

  • A commitment to quality, client outcomes, and continuous improvement.

The estimated base salary for this job is $120,000 - $145,000 USD.
