Job description

About the role and team

The FinTech team, part of the CFO's organization, is responsible for innovating and building the best financial products and systems in the world. We are obsessed with our customers, building top-quality products, and operating with teamwork and transparency. We apply industry best practices to solve complex global business challenges at Uber's scale.

As a Senior Integrations Application Developer on our Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) team, you will act as a crucial technical bridge between our upstream data systems and downstream financial consumers. You will function as a junior architect and the de facto owner of cross-system data initiatives, allowing our lead architects to focus on long-term, proactive roadmapping. In this role, you will take charge of managing upstream data and accounting changes (such as modifications in Oracle EBS or HFM/FCCS), assessing their downstream impact, and designing the integration projects required to facilitate them smoothly across our ecosystem.

What you'll do

  • Process and System Expertise: Maintain an intimate knowledge of the Uber Finance data model and data flow. Act as a subject matter expert regarding the sources we pull from to build our P&L, Balance Sheet, and Operational Metrics.
  • Design and Oversight: Collaborate closely with Application owners when assessing new integrations or proposed changes to existing ones. Act as a critical thought partner to the lead architect, performing the requisite due diligence to complete technical assessments. You will define robust development and testing plans for upstream source changes, downstream system consumers, and system cutovers.
  • Project Execution: Coordinate cross-functionally with EPB Application owners as well as upstream data source owners throughout the development process. You will execute on the defined plans, developing and amending the data pipelines required to seamlessly adopt upstream changes.
  • Engineering Excellence: Ensure the overall stability, performance, and accuracy of our financial data pipelines. Take responsibility for holistic monitoring, data flow integrity, and data quality checks. Define proactive alerting mechanisms to catch uncommunicated upstream issues/changes and work closely with those teams and application owners to resolve them before they impact downstream reporting.
  • Guide Financial Transformations: Consult directly with accounting and finance partners when they want to change how they book entries in systems like Oracle EBS or HFM/FCCS. Guide them on what the impact will look like downstream and design the technical solutions to accommodate those changes.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in financial systems integration, application development, or data engineering.
  • A blend of an accounting/financial analyst background alongside robust technical execution skills.
  • Extensive experience developing and integrating within EPM systems (e.g., Oracle EPBCS, HFM, FCCS) and core ERP systems (e.g., Oracle EBS)
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial and accounting requirements into scalable technical system specifications.
  • Experience working with and analyzing large data volumes is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in financial systems integration, application development, or data engineering.
  • Background in technology consulting or as an implementation partner, with a proven track record of constantly working with clients to convert specifications into successful system builds.
  • Proven ability to take end-to-end ownership of complex, reactive technical projects (acting as a de facto lead), allowing senior architects to focus on proactive strategy and vision.
  • Intimate knowledge of enterprise-scale Finance data models, particularly involving P&L, Balance Sheet, and Operational Metrics data flows.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and business teams.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL and Python for data pipeline development, querying, and management.
